Thank you for all your messages (and for being front page of Bimmerpost).
340i9114s : I didn't really consider my age (I am 36) but my wife says the BMW M I had (all of them) are teenagers cars. My dad is 63 and he bought an OG M2 September 2020. I guess for a part of the people they should be an age to own a M. zamboni : Thanks! This is a Sub C @adc: Thank you! We have some nice roads for sure @IB M: No I sold it. I have an another car (a four doors 2019 Golf 7.5). I live in the center of a city (35'000 inhabitants... that should be a village in the USA lol) so I don't need a car for work and I live near schools so I am at 97% a pedestrian. I considered CCBs (like I consider it on my previous F80) but I was never able to try on F8x with CCBs (I tried the 992 Turbo S and the new GT4 with CCB which were nice). CanAutM3 : Thank you! Thanks for the information I didn't notice that... I don't know why they did that. Do you know if the front axle is the same as on the M4 CS? (this is a great improvement over my F80 Comp). thaalrasha : I waited for the G8x too but the size and the front are part of the reason why I choose the CS. The S58 should be nice. As for now I don't think I will buy an another M3 (too big) but maybe the next G87 CS? Supadice : No issue for now but I can't imagine the cost of it since apparently this is not the same as M Performance Part.

1300kms update:
The car is more engaging to drive than my F80 and it is much more precise (better steering feel and you feel the car better). It is a great pleasure on mountain roads! I didn't think that the shorter wheelbase made the car that different (only 12 centimeters). The ride is firmer but in term of comfort this is really close to the F80. When I do hard breaking the car tends to follow the road inequality more than the F80 so you have to be cautious of that. I can't talk about the motor since I still in break in period. The DCT feels a bit faster. The only thing I miss is the lighting power when doing 180 degree turns at night.

Its not absurd to suggest certain cars look like they're for certain audiences, age included I still think the M2 looks like a kids street racer car, but also a ton of fun to drive so enjoy it. |

Some friends told me (in really life) that the car was too small, too old tech, too quiet (exhaust) or that I was somewhat doing a downgrade to sell the M3 for a M2...

I'm fairly conservative by nature and to my eyes the M2 has a mostly ordinary coupe look with an aggressive front and the wide hips that tell you there is something special about the car. The reason I like it is it doesn't look like a street racer to me...like a wrx does, for example. I like the understated nature of it. I suppose the CS, with the raised bonnet and carbon fiber parts, looks more like a racer...but, I'd still be thrilled to have one!

Picked up yesterday! So I have had the pleasure of driving the M2c for the last 18 months, and 7500ml. Getting into the CS there are some noticeable differences that I haven't heard discussed from our Youtube friends out there. First off the Steering feel is dramatically tighter, more precise. Not that it needed much improvement but they did it. The clutch is noticeably tighter, firmer and grabs lower down. Which I like as it lends itself to a more sport feel. Brakes are the same but with the lighter wheels, and Cup 2 tires there is an improvement there you can feel. Of course there is an air of specialness that carries with you as you drive, so that does help make your thoughts less impartial. My M2c is tuned by DINAN and has just over 500hp and same torque number, so in this case it's faster, but not sure I will miss that. Probably not going to tune the CS at least not for a while. I chose Hockenheim silver and gold wheels. The color was a no brainer for me as I love Hockenheim, and did not like the blue at all. The gold wheels was my big departure, I think people will love it or hate it. Thats the point, I thought giving the car some controversy, and make it stand out as different is deserving. The new seats with the Merano leather are completely amazing. Much better at holding you tight, you really feel like your connected to the car. I did not go for the CCB mainly cause you don't gain much from them but looks. Thats a lot of money (almost$9k) for an aesthetic upgrade. Most track experienced people I spoke to say the steel brakes are even better for track and every day, especially the M2 setup. I haven't gotten enough time behind the wheel yet to feel out the adjustable dampening on the suspension. But I'm glad the option is there and I'm sure so is my wife. We spent 2 weeks in Italy when I picked up the M2c and she was less than comfortable. Of course the Cup 2 tires are amazing, best rubber you can buy, by far! Cant wait to set up the Michelin app that gives you accurate tire temp and pressure. I don't know how the car will do from a value perspective, but as long as it holds its value I will be happy. Very few cars can be called an investment, and I wouldn't suggest buying a new car for that reason. If you love driving it and you don't loose your shirt in depreciation then your winning. |
