No one knows since the G87 doesn’t exist yet as a consumer car. There has been no US allocations to date.

depends on how you define better.
its going to be faster and probably a better daily driver too. but personally i dont feel they upped the bar enough. and its design is a complete mess. not a car i'd want to walk into the garage to admire or turn around to look back at after parking. |

Tech will be better but age worse if that matters at all to you.
It has more power, but it’s also heavier. I’m sure it’ll be faster than F87 but not night and day. Back seats will probably not be as roomy as F87 given what happened with the G42. This probably isn’t a big consideration for people buying 2 door cars. But it was a nice party trick of previous gen 2 series. Exterior looks are subjective. I prefer F87 but totally understand that G87 can look more aggressive in some angles. I’m sure reviews will be very positive just as they were with the last gen M2 and even new gen M3/4. I summarize my view as the F87 is a keeper and G87 is a lease-er. What I mean by that is I’m convinced the F87 will be a future classic with its looks and it’s classic gauge cluster and it’s transmission (both manual and DCT) and the list goes on. It’s a fun car today and will be a fun retro car in 15+ years. But the G87 is likely to be objectively better as a car to drive in 2023 and the next 2-5 years due to the increased tech and power. But if that’s what drives your purchase you know that in a few years we’ll have other car options with even more tech etc and you’ll move on from the G87 to something else. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it’s just a completely different mindset than how I view F87s. But maybe I’m just too attached to mine ❤️ |

he is but you gotta admit, this is a pretty silly pointless post.
The G87 is not out yet so how would anyone know what is better on something that has not been released. Not to mention posting on f87 forum, is not going to get, the g87 will be a better car. |

If I'm not looking back at the car after I park it, it ain't worth the pricetag. If I'm not peeking into the garage every now and then to see that sexy ass, it ain't worth the price tag.
One of those is the F87 and the other I'm walking right into the grocery store without ever looking back. |

Majority will agree the F87 looks better than the G87, it will be more emotionally appealing in that sense, maybe even sound better. The G87 will be better from a technical standpoint - ie the numbers it posts will be quantitatively better. However the interior of the G87 will get dated, the screens and electronics will easily and quickly date the car and you'll move on (screens date a car, that's a fact). The F87 on the other hand is a lot more restrained and timeless - less screens, it'll be a classic.

I think the only thing that kind of bothers me about the g87 (sure I don't love the looks) is that on the F87, the m2 is clearly better looking than the m240... with the g87 I actually think the m240 is a better looking car (and that is not saying a lot), maybe this will change as I start seeing them and with some key mods might change my opinion... not that it matters, I will not be buying one for a bazillion other reasons.

The m240 never did. Time will tell with respect to the G87 but based on pics I doubt it. The F87 was awesome right out of the gate and still is. Dare I say the number of folks that think the F87 is ugly outnumber those that find the G87 attractive...do the math.

I mean, with a name like “beemerguru” one would think they’d already have the answer. 😅

😂Gotta love the ‘ignore’ button, allows me to read/interact with good folk on here without having to wade through the endless crap from the trolls like Wilson kop. Great feature indeed.👍
As for the topic of discussion I’ll stick with what I have but I’m sure given time & attention from the aftermarket the G87 will become a hit too.

It’s really hard to take-in the uncohesive looks of the G87, so I’m not exactly sure I can even drive one

All I know is you’ll have to pry the stick shift in my F87 from my cold dead right hand.
