2020 NSX... they are selling poorly and there was a $20K incentive + what ever you can get for a discount. It was "improved" in 2019 and the recent reviews say it's a great car that is greatly misunderstood.. It ticked all the boxes for me as the goal for a second car was to be different than my e92 m3... and it's a honda so ultra reliable. Oil changes are $350 not $3000 like a Mclaren. I think it's status will be like the LFA one of these days down the road when it's long gone.
Well done! The NSX is a much better choice imo than the M2CS. And I'm glad you mentioned it's reliability. So important when you're buying a supercar (which a M2CS is not &#128518. And the price incentives on the NSX is your win!

Also, I don't care about the critics. It is a fantastic car and even better in terms of design. And with $20K+ incentives, it hits the sweet spot

Personally, I'm in love with the Lexus LC500, similar to your train of thought, but that is a different story.

Production Numbers

Maybe I'm looking at the numbers wrong, but why only 18% (~400) US allocations for the M2 CS when a total of ~2200 are being produced globally. (Compared to 48% for M3 CS with 607 for US/out of 1263 global)

I think they started at a rumored 550 to US but that number was reduced to 400 due to covid-19. I'm guessing because the M3/M4 CS sold poorly so they decided to not send that many to the US

NSX is an awesome car. Loved the one I drove. I need four seats for the time being so I can share my car hobby time with the kids. CS wins the four seat category pretty easily right now.

Yeah that would make sense. Weird that the total numbers are still comparable (400 vs 607).

Any other good 4 seat options you've run across? I haven't found anything at this performance level/size with decent back seats. You quickly jump to ~3700lbs/1680kg. The 4 seat lotus didn't cut it. Back seats too tight with roof line. The giulia QV is the only thing a started looking at more seriously. Mainly because of recent updates and new green color.

They may have underestimated demand at 400 though. Since it is now August 11, does that mean allocations not until September?

Not really. I only need the rear seats for fun and short trips with the kids, not full practicality, so I think the lotus would work, but I'd need to check the car seat compatibility situation there. After the lotus the camaro, Mustang, and Alfa are about all that's left. I thought about the Merc and Audi options, but too GT for my liking.

My dealer is still expecting his allocations by the end of this month. Not sure if that's based on hard evidence or 'hope'.

No, the M2CS isn't even in DealerSpeed (BMW's internal system) yet as a model. Just the M2 Comp currently. Don't worry, I'm only checking like every day!
Haha!

Ugh Honda makes me sad. Was waiting for a new s2k instead I purchased the m2c. No regrets just wish Honda made a sports car for car people.

The s2k still looks good. Honda has a way of making their sports cars stand up to the test of time. I think the NSX will still look good 20yrs from now. They need to keep the civic type r designer away from the dedicated sports cars or they'll look like trash in my opinion.

The rear of the lotus with car seat looked rough. I'd also worry about not being able to get the kiddos out in an accident.

You'd think that they have to happen this month, as the Euro cars need to be completed before Sept 1st. I believe mine goes into production next week with it expected at the dealer by the first week of September.

Good points. Having not seen one in person, all stuff I'd have to "approve" before going that route. Don't expect my CS to fall through as I'm first allocation at MSRP anyway.

That's a good point, since Euro has to finish up you'd think they'd be close to release on all this.

You would think... but still nothing in DCS. All of the M2 comps currently in production (count shows 249 in production or on order) for the US are 2021 models. I can't imagine they will go backwards and call the CS a 2020 in the US? At least I hope not. 2020 sucks.
