Forums and facebook groups

Have people moved away from forums to facebook groups?

Feels like there's not a lot of chatter on here compare to a few years ago when I was frequenting the 1addicts forum.

Personally not a fan of FB groups but I do see more unstructured ramblings on there then here especially in the AU sections.

Agreed on the unstructured rambling. Most people on the forums spread better knowledge and engage in more thorough discussion.

I also despise facebook but I just joined up because I want to keep an eye out for any parts that may come up for the M2 in marketplace. Unfortunately as I just joined I cant use Marketplace anyway, and they dont provide a timeframe for when new members will have access opened up. Annoying.

The classified on here is pretty light on for Australian listings.

A lot of the for sale posts never make it to the marketplace listings but are sold within the facebook groups.

There is a Sydney M2 Owners group that are an awesome bunch, no banter at all. I think the Melb guys have their own page too..

Try joining these

- BMW Australian Buy & Sell
- Bmw Sales And Spares (AUS ONLY)

There has definately been a shift in how people get there information and engage about cars. I remember being very active on the 1Addicts page, we went on drives together and shared information everyday. We had a lot of commitment from forum readers but nowadys it has all gone to FB and IG. Just a sign of the times i suppose.

The '///M Club Australia' and 'Sydney M2 Owners' FB groups as very good, I'd actually never used facebook until joining the ///M club 2.5yrs ago. Great for getting/sharing information amongst locals and driving events if you're into some good country driving.

The 'M2 & M2 Competition Owners' group has some regulars who's posts are mainly critical/inflammatory and it would seem a lot of members aren't on forums as 99% of questions asked are already answered (well at least here in bimmerpost).

Seems like the Australia section of the forum isn't as popular compared to when the car was newer back in 16 and 17?
Have many M2 owners moved onto other cars since then? If so - what are they driving now ?
