Turner wheel spacers fowling wheel arches
Hi all,
I have purchased very mild Turner wheel spacers 7.5mm front / 5mm rear and got Litchfield motors to fit them with along with AST coil overs, they have tried to fit the spacers but have found that the front spacers fowl the wheel liner at fall lock on the left side so they can’t fit them due to a safety issue. They even tired the 5mm on the front and it still fouled. They think it’s due to the M2 comp stock wheels and that the OG M2 wheels would allow the spacers to fit as the M2 comp they advertise the AST coil over upgrades on (GreatWhiteM2s car) has the OG M2 wheels on it and had 7.5mm front / 5mm rear spacers. I thought as both wheels have the same offset and other dimensions the spacer would have been fine. FYI I believe my car is lowered to 25mm front / 20mm rear. Do any you have your M2 comps with the stock M2 comp wheels lowered with AST coilovers and spacers fitted? Last edited by Bloodynine; 06-16-2019 at 02:11 AM.. Reason: More information |

I'd say your car is too low.
Mine is lowered on KW v3's (3/4" front 1/2" rear) with 255/275 tires and 5mm spacers so the tires stick out 10mm more than stock and I've never rubbed, even under hard compression. Granted I have the 437m wheels, but they are exactly the same dimensions as the 788m wheels. |

I remember seeing that pic of yours and wanting to go lower. I can't wait. I have 265/35 and 285/35 sottozero winter tires that I'm waiting to adjust my suspension to. They're soo much bigger than the 255/275 that I have on now in all ways. Like the 275/35 Conti 5P that I have on there now is physically the same width as the OEM 265/35 Conti3, and the 285/35 sottozero is sooo much wider and taller than both of those.

Ive got some more information - I believe my car has been lowered to 25mm front and 20mm rear. To confirm the fouling is only occurring at full lock on the left side wheel arch liner. Litchfield have had two M2 comps (including mine) with the issue recently - both M2 comps with the M2 comp wheels. The M2 comp (GreatWhiteM2) that they advertise the AST suspension upgrades on (which had 7.5mm front and 5mm rear spacers all around) didn't have the issue but this has the original OG M2 wheels on it...
I haven’t seen how much it’s fowling (they said minor but won’t fit due to safety). This is very weird as by all accounts the wheels have the same offset measurements etc. |

Good point as they have a different front end (didn’t think about that), however it’s weird that the OG M2 wheels are OK on the M2 comp but not the M2 comp wheels on the M2 comp...

Front arches have same rear halves but different front halves (number, not necessarily dimensions)
It could just be parts #12,13,14 which are missing on OGM2 which are mounting hardware, so perhaps the only difference is where/how the front plastic bumper cover attaches to it and not physical dimensions. |

Wheels - I'm not sure if the offsets are identical but tires can play a role as advertised size doesn't always represent actual fitment. Also I wonder if the wheel shapes and how the tire bead seats plays a factor between rims. If the OG stuff clears, it could be by a hair. Compress either on a curbing at a track and I bet both will rub. |

Just picked up on this thread as looking for spacers to go with the AST suspension! Is that drop as per Litchfield spec? I thought GWM2 had 20/20 drop?
If wheels are the same size and offset then rims must be in the same location relative to the hub. Doesn't greatwhiteM2 run P zero Trofeo tyres? Different actual width and shoulder profiles would change rubbing distances quite a bit. The OE Michelins have thicker shoulder and protruding side wall for rim protection, maybe Trofeos don't? I remember changing tyres on my old 335i, same size but they rubbed afterwards so I had to reduce spacers. Last edited by doughboy; 06-24-2019 at 05:12 AM.. |

Yes - saw GWM2 and his BSM M2C on Saturday morning. Car was wearing 437m with 245/265 35/19 Trofeo's F&R with 5mm spacer upfront IIRC. Tagging GreatWhiteM2 so he can input on this directly BP

I have ran 5mm & 7.5mm spacers with 245/35/19 Trofeo R's with zero rub on full lock. See images attached showing where it may rub but not with 5mm or 7.5mm spacers. Im running 437m wheels. One image is with 5mm spacers and the other is 7.5mm spacers. |

I have ran OEM 245/35/19 MPSP with 7.5mm spacers on the front and they do not rub either. Close but no rub. |

I’ll try posting a few photos of my drop measurements. I’ll try and put the spacers on and show where they rub as I’m curious and never actually saw it but I’m about to go on holiday so may not get a chance. FYI my tyres are stock Michelin pilot super sports |
