i checked my 2013 135i circa 25/1/18 and it said my car was not affected by the recall. How do i know the date is because i complained to BMW that their website was error'ing on the following link.
https://www.bmw.com.au/offers-and-se.../airbag_recall Now when i check it says has been rectified. None of my service paper work says it was replaced nor was it ever mentioned. Like prodigy i must be one of the lucky ones that had a house call. |

I called BMW Australia just now and asked why are we seeing this.
I was told that basically it is something wrong with the recall database for bmw.com.au they are working with Germany HQ to fix the issue. So to be short: What you see is not accurate, please ignore it for now. If the vehicle is affected by Takata airbag recall (or anything else), paper snail mail will be the official notification.

well considering they applied the "wrong" software update to 11,400 bmw's i'm not surprised that they cannot even get a simple DB to work with valid data. Sorry i couldnt help myself.
terrywang thanks for taking the time out to call them. |

The airbag recall has disappeared completely now when i check my Vin, however while getting my car serviced this week i inquired and i was told the M2 is affected by the recall, there are no replacement airbags available as yet but we will be notified, probably by post, when they are and we can then book our cars in.

Dropped my car off this morning for a vehicle check service, and the SA advised that he would have the driver’s airbag done whilst they had the car - which was a surprise to me.
Car is a 2017 LCI. |

Worth triple checking all - I had an unscheduled service done recently by BMW (oil and tyre change) and despite having been told twice prior it wasn't needed on my 2016 M2 they suddenly advised it DID indeed need to be done and swapped out the airbag...

Thanks for reminding, I'll give BMW dealer a call to get the airbag replaced ASAP.
