11" Wheel with 295 or 305 tires in the rear?

What do you guys think? The 1M could easily fit this setup in the rear. The stock setup on the M2 doesn't look like it has much room to grow. Do you think we can widen the rear 1/2" each way?

That's what I plan on running. Problem will be with the front. I want to stick with the same amount of over square, but I think a 10" with a 275 tire on the front won't fit right for everyday street use. Track sure, but my wheel guy is telling me to go with a stock size in the front to keep from rubbing on the street. I'm not sure I like the idea of a 245/35 19 in the front with a 295/30 19 rear, I think that will cause massive amounts of darting and beelining on the roads.

Edit: If worse comes to worse, I've seen a 295 on a 10" and it's not that bad. /flame-suit

You could probably move up to a 255 on stock size in the front. And no flaming from me, a lot of people run 295 on the stock 1M and E92 M3 rear. I actually think an 11 with 295 would fit better than stock with 295 because the 11 would stretch the tire a little bit. Maybe I'm wrong but it sounds good to me.

The real problem is that BMW stepped up their game on wheels and the stock M2 wheels are pretty light. I don't want to put on a wheel that's heavier so I'm going to be spending a lot of money on wheels if I change them...

Alternative tire sizes with +3%/-2% total wheel diameter:
(WARNING: any wider tires could not fit the fenders and arches, always check it earlier (!) and in most cases you will need new rims, of course)

http://www.automobile-catalog.com/ti...coupe_dkg.html

According to that data, it should even be possible to mount a 255/40 R19 = percentage diameter difference to original = 2,8%

3th column = preference

For my street set I don't care about weight so much, but for a track set if I do decide to go that route, I'll spend the big bucks and get something ultra light, maybe even an 18"

Can confirm fitment of RE71s

Can confirm fitment of a 255/35/R19 and 285/35/R19 Bridgestone RE71s on stock wheels with plenty of clearance. No rubbing at lock while autocrossing. I would like to go a little wider for street use but still deciding on wheels.

How about 265 in front? My observation is that your more likely to rub on the inner fender in front with wheels turned than at the top of the fender.

If you turn the wheels does it look like you'll rub with 265s up front?

i'm waiting on a set of track wheels to be built now. planning on running forgeline ga1r 18x10 square with re 71's for track duty. unsure if offset up front will clear fender/suspension (MCS 2 way non remotes with GC camber plates) so i plan on doing some test fitments with a test wheel first. more to come in the next 2 weeks.

light rolling of the inner fender up front might be required. not too excited about this to be honest but wont know till i do test fitment...

The ga1r is such a nice wheel! Good choice. Why so skinny though?

I would just ask them. My bet is they point you towards a 9.5" square setup
