Light Came on Again

This may be the fifth time the light came on. The dealer replaced the coil and spark plug last time when it went into the shop. The light comes on every 1000 miles and stays on for couple of days and goes away. Anyone else experiencing the same problem??

Reported the problem to BMWNA

I called up BMWNA and reported about the problem. They have called the dealer and got the info from the previous visits. The car is at the dealer with the check engine light on since yesterday.

Hey guys! any idea whats on?

Im having the same issue, this is the second Time it happened to me. Im sending the car to the dealership Monday. The first time I sent it they changed my coil packs and spark plugs but it didn't fix anything since it turned back on 1000 miles later.

I have seen several people having the same issue. I am guessing mostly with the 18 LCI models. Lets see what happens.

Dealer changed the coil and the spark plug. It did make the light go away but if the light comes on again. I have to take the issue seriously. BMWNA is also aware of my issue.

The CEL doesnt just turn off after a few days... codes move from pending to confirmed(CEL) after 5 instances of the pending condition. After 5 full warm up cycles, the confirmed code will clear if the condition is no longer occurring in the last 5 periods. A CEL hardly is a condition to NOT drive in, unless it is blinking. If blinking, shut the car off and tow it.
