In Germany I don't think this will be the case. BMW clear intentions is to pushed this into the market to gather some future customers for M3, M4, M5 and M6 owner. Alternatives: I'm no Audi guy but the coming up TTRS will be more than crazy from what is rumored. |

Alternative is a 2014 981 Cayman S. Probably few $$ (2-5K) more expensive than an M2 here in Canada. The issue will be finding one with the appropriate options.

I'm so tempted to buy it instead of waiting for an M2 (i'm number 4). What a tough choice. |

For me PASM would be a must in a 981s make sure you don't need this option if you decide to pull the trigger. Also, new Caymans (2017 model) will have a 4cyl turbo so not sure what would that do to the resale value of the 981s. |

That being said, i don't think i'll ever find a deal like this for the Cayman - i don't think it has PASM. I really wanted the performance exhaust, i don't get how there are so many Caymans/boxsters without this option. It makes the car sound amazing. I don't know hwo the 4cyl turbo will be like, but this will then this could be the last 6cyl NA for cayman S (possibly the GT4 keeping the same engine) |

I will still be interested in the M2 as well, but now I won't be in the position to make a crazy decision...because I already did that song and dance.

I really like the stock suspension, but there are times that I do wish it was just a bit more stiff. I have been considering the X73 retrofit, but am afraid of overshooting and ending up with a car that's too uncomfortable with DD duties - which mine definitely has. PASM is nice because it gives you choices and is permanently 10 MM lower than stock. The X73 gives you a 20 MM lower than stock stance (it looks great) and supposedly has more "feel" than the PASM. SunCoast Porsche in Florida is the dealer to get it from - best prices around... My point being that all three choices are great, and even if the car has the stock setup, there are factory options available to you.

The TT-RS had originally been on my list of possibilities, but it was not easy to find one to drive. After my 18 month snafu with the 235, I just won't do that again - I am going to have to drive it before I buy it.

I agree with chmura, I am sure that when you start to get to more rural areas there will be something left....and it feels like some M2 fans are starting to shift interest anyway....

I guess I put my faith in comparisons I can make. Like TTS better than M235, so not having driven either I'd bet I'd like TTRS better than M2. Not always the case but lacking any better options can always try and drive the closest like for like comps and make a call. I wouldn't drive a TTS against an M2 (assuming you could) and decide TTRS vs M2 for instance. Would still go back to TTS vs M235.

Most dealers that didn't have a buyer in line ordered the 1M loaded in the Valencia orange launch color. For the M2 I bet the most common dealer order package is LBB-DCT. |
