Was quoted just over 120k drive away for an M2C today, how people are apparently getting them for under 105k is beyond me.

That is just RRP, you should try negotiating.

120k is above RRP, unless the dealer is charging a crazy dealer delivery fee!

Am not looking to buy, just requested a price.

Only 2 Bmw dealerships in WA so even with negotiation they are reluctant to budge much on price, especially on an M car.

It's effectively a monopoly as both dealerships are part of Auto Classic. It does make getting a good deal hard.

May be a good option to hold out for a second hand or demo model in a year. I know I've already lost at least $35K realistically on my 2016 M2

I was quoted $118K drive away with:

Brakes upgrade
Load through
6-sp manual
metallic paint

(didn't want sunroof, factory tints, Car Play, etc.)

IMO not worth it, there appears to be no exhaust upgrade on the horizon and my current M2 tracks just fine...

Yea they're not holding their value very well... especially for those who paid between 105-115k for them. Will be lucky to get 75k now considering you can get a brand new run out M2 for 90kish.

It's a shame really but Bmw not helping with constant updates... in a few years what will people in the 2nd hand market buy? 2016-18 M2 with N55? Or 2018-2020 M2 with S55 engine... which they'll drop by 40-50% as well (55kish) which means early models will go as low as 30-40k when they get to 5-6 years old... vs 1M limited model still worth 70k after 5 years

Imagine what an M235i would go for then 20-25k?
The f80/82 started the discounting trend to stay relevant and I'm sure there are many that'll take a hit come time to upgrade.

Sydney dealer via a mate looking for a new car. 115k on road with metallic paint (no other options). Based on Muffy and others this seems like the going price without some negotiation unless you live in WA.

It's going to be bad!! Bmw offered 36k for trade for my 2015 M235i... private id be lucky to get 46k (despite in great condition)... that's only 3.5 years in lost 50% already

There are actually plenty of cars on that boat without an attached name on it. I had options to pick different colours, options, dct/manual

That's actually good to know for potential buyers as i doubt dealers would want those sitting on the floor gathering dust. Discounts for all..

Carsales M2 pricing article.

No surprises to what the King of the rumour, way, had said long ago.

The initial lot will sell rapidly as they are so hot right now. Next year things wil be business as usual. If I wasn’t buying one, I’d probably convince myself to buy one. I suspect it’s the end of an era. We dodged the steaming potato filter this time. Maybe not next time. The world is changing. Maybe we’ll get some type of electickery rocket. But then we’ll need to make our own noises as we drive. I think it’s time to grab one.
