I am clearly in the minority here, but I like that I got the standard LCI M2. Maybe because I have an M4, with ZCP.
Driving the M2 is simpler and sometimes more comfy. Besides, the wife loves the seats, always has since our m235i, back in 2014. We are taking a cross country trip (coast to coast) in the M4.. I'm swapping the passenger seats just for her. |

Tell your wife the M4 seats in the M2C seats are an option. Base seats remain if you so choose.

Who would pay more than $10k difference for a heavier car that has virtually the same suspension as the base M2? The s55 and seats have always been a non issue for me. I'd pay up for less weight and upgraded suspension though, neither of which this has. So $1k sounds about right to me Last edited by M2 CSL; 04-13-2018 at 12:59 PM.. |

Can you imagine if you owned the m235i when it came out, then saw the M2, and decided to make the plunge and trade? Then you discovered an LCI 2018 model that you just had to have, now discover for a small price, you can upgrade to the S55 version...
Ugh, what's next?? It's not like they could make a switch to the S58 in a couple years, amiright? |

The upgrades...as in the seats, brakes, wheels, perforated leather, etc. They are all options. Hence the 1% price increase stated by EVO.

Has anyone photoshopped the stock m2 wheels onto the competition images? since all we see are the optional wheels, i'm wondering what it looks like with the stock m2 wheels

I'm just trying to calm down and tell myself I should re evaluate buying one mid to late 2019 and maybe making a purchase early 2020.
The price coming in low or high sort of doesn't matter because either way the car is a bargain but my M2 depreciates a lot, or the car has a good price bump but I am able to resell the N55 M2 for more.. so either way it's going to be a costly upgrade if I chose to do it. If the price increase is really only 1.2% that's an insane bargain. BMW rekt by emissions forcing their hand to put out basically an M4 in a 2 series body for more than 10k less than the M4. Truly a gift to those who waited. |

Quick question... Do we know the weight figure quoted in the magazine belongs to the base model with 6MT or the press car that is shown with optional wheels and bigger brakes?

Therein lies the irony in all of this. Putting options aside for a second; instead of it being $10k more as many touted, it's akin to getting a smaller more nimble M4 for $10k less.

This is not the M2 that the engineers wanted to build from the beginning.
That should come later. |

The front brakes are 99.99% F10 steel brakes, the specs are spot on(6 piston 400mm). Earlier spy photos, the calipers look identical. Although the rear is something different, the rear rotors are now the size of old front rotors(380mm).
This thing is going to stop on a dime. Last edited by M3_WC; 04-13-2018 at 01:36 PM.. |
