Accident

I was a complete stop at a highway offramp and I got rear ended. 2021 M2C. It was a harsh jolt but the damage appears to be minimal. Like just a bad scratch on the plastic back bumper. I'm worried however about structural damage that I can't see. Should I take it in? Its driving just fine.

(She seemed like a nice kid but just got her license yesterday...)

100% take it in just to be sure the damage is only what you see. These bumper covers can pop back out and hide further issues for sure. I would have her insurance cover it, no question. If you plan to cut her a break, still get it looked at just to know what you are really into. Good luck

I agree. Have a certified BMW body shop inspect your M2C.

Take it to an indie that won't report it and get their opinion?

I took it to the BMW dealer-I hope to own this car for many years and I'm not thinking about resale value. Good news, no serious structural damage. I've been able to clean up the markings on the bumper so its not too visible, lucky.

Thank you for the feedback.

I would get a bumper repaint if it was scuffed up. Why live with this if you're going to own the car for a while?

Glad it wasn't serious. A 2021 M2C is too young to die.
