I'm a big guy, and find the M2C more comfortable than my OG M2 seats. :

Yes, the M2C seats look fantastic and the Dakota leather looks like it will last a long time. But those seat bottom cushions are quite hard. That's the main problem with them.
The bolsters and adjustments fit me perfectly - I'm 5'-7" and 160 lbs. No complaints there. Snug as a bug. Compared to my previous car, a Camaro 2SS 1LE, the M2C seats are not nearly as comfortable. The 1LE had Recaros with suede seating surfaces that was more comfortable than the stiff Dakota leather. Plus the Recaros were ventilated which makes a huge difference in hot muggy weather. Finally, the Recaros seat bottom was more cushioned.

The OG seat are definitely more comfortable to me, but the M2C seats aren't uncomfortable, do make the interior feel more special, and transmit a bit more feel from the chassis… I'm sure body type has a lot to do with it.

I think the M2C seats are fine for what they are. They are stiff and you can't tweak them too much but they are fine. Certainly fine for the city. I suppose it's the long drives that might be a problem sometimes.
My other car is a m235i and I can't say I prefer those seats over the ones in my M2C, except maybe I wish I could have specced the latter in Alcantara because it makes a difference in cold and in hot weather. I am 6' and 166 pounds, and have no problem fitting. My seats are manual, supposedly go lower, but I almost always set my seat 4 notches up from the lowest setting. 2 years of ownership and I still find myself fiddling with the seat and steering column settings from time to time but I suspect it has more to do with my neuroticism/perfectionism than the seats per se ))) Took me a long time to adjust the lumbar support the way I liked it but once done never touched it again. The longest I've done in this car is a 12.5 hrs run across the country with a stop every 2 or 3 hrs, and it wasn't too bad, at least I never thought of my seat as an inconvenience. But I do make such stops regardless of the car I drive. As for the convenience of the cabin layout one thing I could certainly do without is the central console armrest. There are some settings where because of the armrest it's not too convenient to use the lever and there some settings where it's not too convenient to steer. I wish there was an armrest delete option for these cars. I sat in a M2C and I definitely liked it not having the armrest. |

In my opinion, seat comfort ranks for me
M4 Comp M4 OG M2 M2 comp I have the M4 higher up because of the leather quality, but in terms of the seat itself I'd say the OG is very comfortable. I found the M4 comp seats very very comfortable for some reason. The base seats aren't my favorite in terms of comfort

Haven't read the thread, but my only two issues with the seat are 1) I wish they went lower and 2) I wish the seat was more wide. I'm a thin guy, but base side bolsters really push your legs together which I don't really like.

I'm 5"10, 160. I don't find the seats uncomfortable at all. They tend to fit a lot of different body types. Maybe try adjusting them further?

Huh, I actually think the M2C seats are ultra-comfortable. I wonder if height is an issue though, I know taller people (over 6') can't stand them.
When I moved down to GA from CT, I did the entire trip in one shot with only breaks for gas. Not once did I have any aches or pains, and I have a pretty bad lower back. |

Don't get me wrong, they aren't the comfort seat from my E60 535i, but they definitely come close and hold you in much better

I’m not a fan of the seats. I’m tall and long legs don’t get any thigh support for long trips. The seat cushion is also unnecessarily hard IMHO. At the two hour mark I tap out!
I’m not looking for a luxury lounge chair, AKA Volvo seats, but some padding and a seat bottom extender would make me very happy. |

All of this. I am also 6'-1" and 230. Finding the right vertical position for the the lumber made a big difference. Now the back is almost as comfortable as my previous '17 Mustang GT Premium. The seat bottom, not so much.

I love the seats! If I were forced to complain: -not available with manual control in US mkt -when at the track, headrest pushes my helmet forward, forcing me to lean the seat back about 15 degrees -seating position could be 2" lower Otherwise I think they are very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable given what I experienced in my 1M, and what was originally offered in the OG M2 |

Eventhough I now have the pitch where I like it and my drive back down I5 in Oct was waaaaaay more comfortable than my drive up in July, it is that bit in the back of the legs that is missing for me.

...and only heated, but not cooled. Guess which one I'd rather have on a summer day in Texas.

My only complaint is when wearing a helmet I wish I could adjust the headrest back a bit. Actually complaint #2 would be wishing the side bolsters would adjust in tighter. I would rate the M2C seats as more comfortable than my E90 M3 seats other than the helmet part and way, way, way more comfortable than the purely awful non-sport seats in my E91...those are truly horrid seats with terrible comfort and zero support.

I also now find the M2C comfortable enough for a long trip. 1050 miles this past week. I think 260 miles was my max per day on the return trip. I did mess with the lumbar and run heated seats often because of my bad back but driving the M2C is more comfortable than just standing around.

Try this trick - works for me on both the M2c and in my Golf R, which also is lacking in thigh support. Tilt the seat bottom back, further than you might think would be comfortable. Adjust the backrest accordingly. You can actually provide some thigh support this way and it works wonders for me. Just got back from a trip that was 7 hours in each direction - no issues with comfort, other than the hard seat bottom.
