What winter tires for 437m wheels?

Factory wheels are
19 x 9.0 front
19 x 10.0 rear

Factory tires are
255/35/19 front
265/35/19 rear

I noticed a lot of people drop down to 18in wheels for winter etc. Not trying to swap wheels if I can get away with a set of tires.

Just looking for a good, proven setup on the 437m wheels.

Thanks

I have Alpin PA4s in stock sizes - front width is 245 stock I believe. For daily driving, I prefer them to MPSS…quieter, plenty of grip, and fill out the wheel well just a bit more.

I went for 18" winter, wanted to get Michelins Pilot Alpin 5s or Conti 870, but out of stock everywhere. So I went with Pirellis Sottozero 3. I hope they will hold...

What size are the tires? Sorry if it's an implied thing. I've never changed tires before

Unless your going into deep snow I'd recommend the Pilot Sport All Season 4's
A new Pilot All Season w/a ZR rating

I've been running a set on my second car for almost a year now and they're a very impressive tire

Available is stock sizes

Highly recommended

Factory tire size are supposed to be
245/35/19 Front
265/35/19 Rear

Check them out ‼️

Yes agreed. Feel like the Michelin PA4's are fantastic. For day to day driving I actually think they're way more comfortable than the stock summer tires. And they make the PA4's in the exact same staggered sizes as the stock tires, so it's very easy.

Sounds like a great tire…

They will fit, but depending on the tire, it may appear stretched on the rears. i would stick to stock sizes. I have the Pirelli Sottozeros on mine and they work well too, but I may switch the MPSAS4s because I will never drive in snow

You and I are normally on the same page, but I have to disagree with you on this one bro. The combination BMW programmed into this car (tail happy, wide tires, RWD) is not a good one for inclement weather, and it's absolutely terrible in even light snow. I'd recommend a more aggressive tire than you could normally get away with on just about any other car.

I recently got the PA4 in 255/35/19 and 265/35/19 (the front 245/35 was out of stock at tirerack). The tires fit fantastically, can't wait to try them out.

I have the same sizes. I got them from a Forum member last year. I had no issues last winter.

255/35/19 and 265/35/19 is the consensus in Pilot Alpin PA4?

I'd definitely get 245/35/19 Front and 265/35/19 Rear

And I see them available quickly looking online

Call DISCOUNT TIRE in the AM I bet they can get them fast 💨

I went on their website and my local store has an entire set in stock

They definitely show the 245/35/19 fronts as well as the rear 265/35/19's

I'd get the 245 if you can, but the 255 will work just as well.

In the right temperature zone they are great. Above about 45 Fahrenheit and they are pretty decent, as you get closer to freezing they are top. At the right temp I think they grip as much as the PS4S or PSS in the warm. I don't know about their deeper snow performance since I haven't had the chance to drive in anything deeper than 1-2". This will be the 3rd winter for the set I have.

Even if you decide to stick with 19" wheels, I'd still strongly recommend getting a dedicated set of rims (you can usually find a nice set off kijiji). Preserve the condition of your favorite wheels (snow + rwd = more risk for curbrash), can swap em in your garage - no appt needed - we had a little heat spell last December and I was able to swap my summers on for a week. If you keep you car more than 2-3 years, cost of swapping back and forth twice a year will basically be cost of the wheels (then can sell em at the em and make some $$ back).
I'm a big fan of the PA4's too.

Since most people with the competition have rubbing with 245 PA4, I’d probably avoid 255 in that tire. Might not be an issue for OG though.
