I'm 6'1 and I have my seat on the floor but the rear view mirror creates a massive blind spot. I have it all the way up yet I'm losing entire cars behind it. I have to duck, bob and weave on cloverleafs to fully see.
Does anyone else have this issue? (I have since moved my radar out of view) |

I'm 5'9 and even with the seat a few clicks above the lowest setting, I wish the steering wheel can be a bit lower. And no, the rear view mirror doesn't get in my view at all.

I have this issue. I am not as tall as you, but I have a taller torso than my height would suggest. I was at the Thermal M school a few weeks ago and I talked to one the taller instructors. He suggested that I bring the seat closer and lean it back simultaneously. Its helped a lot.

I have seat forward (coded for a little bit of easy entry movement), butt part all the way down, front of seat (distal thigh) all the way up, and the recline at just right to have the arms reach. For me this gives great visibility, good pedal reach and good arm reach, while being quite comfortable like sitting in a comfy bucket.

Amazing, this must be the only car ever made with the rearview mirror placed there!

OP, as mentioned have you tried reclining the seat to lower your head height and bringing the wheel back to retain your arm reach.?
That camera shot (If it is your eye position) looks very far forward. I'm 5'11, I don’t have the seat at max low and I’ve never even noticed the mirror like that. |

I think it’s just the nature of the beast. I’m 6’ and keep the seat as low as it will go. Have almost subconsciously modified my head and body movements to see around it. No different than trying to look around A & B pillars in certain situations. Every vehicle is different. Don’t even notice it anymore. On the plus side, lots of space to keep toll pass and dashcam out of sight.
Best wishes. Contented |

6'3" here and definitely an issue, actually completely missed seeing a car at a stop sign once because of it. Now I'm extremely paranoid about making sure to move my head around.
I've tried moving the seat but there isn't really a good solution that I've been able to find yet. One of the very few complaints I have about the car. |

Im 6’2’’.
Top of the steering wheel is aligned with the top of the dash, seat is all the way down, and I’m reclined a bit. Fit perfectly and have never had a blind spot issue with rear mirror. Seems like you may be too upright and your wheel too high. |

Yes. A pillar in modern cars is so thick. I have no problem with the mirror with the CS (I'm 189cm), but you do sit a bit lower than the C. I don't remember having any issue in the C either though. I DO have a problem with the mirror in my Z3, but no problem with A pillar. Swings and roundabouts.

I thought long and hard about your problem. Clearly, you are driving too slow then. The cars should be visible in your rear mirror, not on the other side of it. The remedy has nothing to do with the seat position, it has to do with your foot pressing the accelerator pedal further forward. :P

I don't completely have this problem being short but I totally understand it. The seats simply don't go down far enough. In general it's not just the mirror to me that's in an awkward place. It kind of feels like the optimal seating position for this car is just unintuitive. I found myself leaning back a lot more than I thought I would. This fixes a lot of my gripes including seat comfort as well as moving your vision lower away from the mirror. Incidentally I didn't have this problem on my OG M2.
