I had my windshield cracked all the way across and I negotiated for $400 they fix it when I turned my 335i in back in 2018.
In todays market, you can probably negotiate for them to cover it when you turn in

Safelite is totall fine, if you go to a dealer the difference is usually $1000. I have my BMW windshield replaced by Safelite a few months ago, no issues so far.

Another satisfied Safelite customer. Had my windshield replaced in 2019 with OE glass and no issues since then.

Safelight replaced mine on Thurs - no issues. Took 10 mins to recalibrate the lane departure sensor. Paid 0 (Liberty Mutual glass covered).
