So yeah they are going to at least try and help, I spoke with Jessica in customer relations and they said it has been long enough to open a case to figure out what happened and why it's still sitting. They're supposed to call back in 24 hours with an update then find out something without 48 hours. Thanks, Brent |

Taking a bit of a guess here and it is just speculation based on what had happened with mine. Mine was held for an extraordinarily long time at the VPC due to an issue with the intelligent emergency call unit, which had the car put on "stop sale". They had to wait over a week to get the spare part shipped to the US. As this was roughly around the same date yours should have been shipped, it might be possible that they held the car in Bremerhaven to replace the unit there.
For my 2018 LBB the timeline was as follows: March 1: Order Placed March 21: Finished Production April 3: Reached Port in Bremerhaven (long time between production and port, likely due to Easter Holiday weeks) April 6: Loaded onto Vessel (Tulane) in Bremerhaven April 7: Left Bremerhaven (informed by dealer on April 9 with Cargo ID, which you need to track the vessel) April 8: Reached Zeebrugge April 11: Left Zeebrugge April 12: Reached Southampton April 12: Left Southampton April 13: Vessel disappeared on tracking map (outside terrestrial tracking reach), making its way across the Atlantic April 22: Arrived/unloaded in Baltimore April 24: MPE installed, but put on "STOP SALE!" at the port, due to the intelligent emergency call unit having to be fixed May 07: Released at the VPC for transport to dealership May 08: Reached dealership May 10: Taken delivery Last edited by Downunder99; 05-31-2018 at 10:59 PM.. |

Just an update for anyone wondering. While communication with the dealer was almost zero regarding what is going on with the car in Germany, they managed to pull off the (almost) impossible. There is a brand new M2 now sitting at the dealership with my name written all over it waiting for my approval. I'm very curious to match up the VIN with the ones that were batched out around my original car because this one just hit port within the last few days. Wondering if this car was on the boat my original car should have been on.
The only difference is this car has Apple Car Play (which we did not add to our cars originally due to how annoying we thought it was in a rental car last year). Hopefully it's not as invasive in the BMW as it was in the rental car, or maybe I can choose not to activate it. All I need now is my tint and my black grills and I'll be good to pick up. My husband shakes his head at me because when I get involved with the customer service issues I can get pretty heated. I was trying to be patient and just trust that it was probably on a boat and that it would be here soon, but when I've had enough of no answers that's when I begin to take action. I managed to stay pretty calm and collected through this whole thing and just state the facts and the truth about our experience, but in the end, when I start raising hell, I usually get what is deserved. It no doubt took some luck, but if I hadn't said anything in the last two days, who knows where I'd be now. Still waiting, and a car with no keys sitting in Germany. And for the record we have been told by someone who wouldn't lie that it truly is what BMW is claiming. That person at the port had ONE JOB. lol. Happy ending for me. Brent951, I really hope you receive your car much sooner than later. |

Haha nothing was free (except Apple car play which I don’t care about) because they did manage to get a car for me at about the same time my original car was supposed to be here. And honestly i don’t know what they would have had to trade and what they went through to get it. But it’s here. Not quite perfect because they still managed to not be prepared and have my black grills waiting for me even though I made sure to ask them to have them ready over a month ago. so I’m still without those and it is driving me a little crazy. But it will be perfect later this week here’s a couple pics for your viewing pleasure.

Looks great. You will have a fun time with it. Glad they were able to find you an M2.

FWIW: The BMW Connected app won't work until the car reaches the states and the system is configured. Had this discussion with the advisor during my ED a few weeks back.

I would:
1) Call Genius and ask to speak with a supervisor. 2). Call BMW Corporate in NJ to speak with their Customer Relations reps. If that gets you nowhere, ask for the boss: Richard Powers Department Head Customer Relations and Services 300 Chestnut Ridge Road Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677-7731 Rich.Powers@bmwna.com 3). Then, go to the top: EXECUTIVES Sebastian Mackensen President and CEO of BMW of North America, LLC Sebastian.Mackensen@bmwna.com Shaun Bugbee Executive Vice President of Operations, BMW of North America, LLC. Shaun.Bugbee@bmwna.com Or, just reverse the order of these contacts and start at the very top. I often find that gets amazingly quick results from the bottom.
