M Drivers School thoughts
Recently I did an Auto cross event sponsored by BMW and got to drive the M440i, where they were offering 20% off their M drivers school. What are people's thoughts on their 1 day course? Would be attempting to do it in August in South Carolina. (I know a terrible time to go there)

I’ve done a bunch of the drivers school events (even went to Sweden once for the drift school). They’re all a fun day driving, and I would generally recommend it. If it rains (which is likely in August in SC), it’ll be even more fun going sideways all day

after watching me thrash their M2C around the short PCD course, my instructor told me that M school is where i belong! i'm thinking i may book it at some point as something to do with my son.

I did 1-day M School in April and loved it. I'm stealing this from another user: don't think of it as much of a track day, but more like a BMW theme park. I brought a helmet because I had no idea what to expect, and they were like, "nah you don't need that."
You'll drive the M2C, M8C, and M4 through various exercises like cornering, agility course, skid pad, and then a few friendly competitions with your classmates. And at the end of the day you ride along with one of your instructors in an M5 for a hot lap, which was icing on the cake. To me it was worth every penny: the instructors are all fantastic; the facilities are top notch; the food was great; the cars are amazing; and I learned a lot. Honestly one of the best times I have ever had. I can't wait to go back in 2 weeks for PCD!

I'm so glad to hear it's amazing, that's the exact response I was looking for. I also forgot to ask what cars you drive as they called me back while I was on a work call, so glad you mentioned it.
A friend and I are doing it at the Cali location August 28th as they didn't have availability in SC until November. |

I haven't been through the driving school, but I have done 2 corporate events at the Performance Center, where everyone got to drive every single type of vehicle on the premises (including gnarly off-roading in X5's) and it was an incredible experience for all.
Driver training of any kind is a good thing, especially in a powerful beast like the M2c, especially if you've never had any such training at all in the past. You'll come away a better, faster, safer driver, for SURE. And will definitely enjoy the experience, I'd be willing to bet. I want to hit the Thermal facility for a class at some point in the future.
