1st Track Day In Two Weeks Am I Ready?

Hitting Thompson in CT on the 24th and the Limerock in July and quite obviously i'm excited. My M2 is at Turner Motorsports getting an inspection and some track upgrades. So after today, here is what i've done to the car. I feel well prepared for the track but am I missing anything?

- Dinan CAI & Res Delete Straight Pipe
- Macht Schnell 11mm spacers all around
- Mich Pilot PS4S
- ECS Tuning SS Brake Lines w/ Castrol SRF Fluid
- Pagid RSL 29 Endurance Track Pads
- Vorshlag Camber Plates
- -2.0 front camber 1/2 front toe
- Evolution Racewerks Chargepipe Kit
- Racing Dynamics Front Strut Brace
- Schroth Quick Fit Pro Harness
- Schroth SHR FLEX Head & Neck Restraint
- Turner Motorsport Race Pedal set (3 pedals)
- M Performance Shifter
- Oil Change

I have some black painters tape and plan to tape the headlights. Any other areas I should protect with tape?

I would not use black painters tape to tape anything on your car. Trust me.

Most people's first track day is completely stock so they have a baseline..... So yeah I think you're good.

If you're anal about your paint and don't have ppf, tape the front and hips as well. Have fun and be safe!

What club are you going to LRP with?

None of those items on your list will matter the first few track days, other than fluid/pads. You will be fine.

Just to be clear this isn't my first track day ever, it's the first of the year and the first with the M2. I supposed I should have put "of the year" in my post title.

I have a bunch of buddies in the PCA Porsche Club NER Northeast Region. I am an associate PCA member. I'm in the Blue solo run group hoping to be promoted soon to the white intermediate group.

I forgot the best upgrade of all. I have a red M2C style start button. It weighs .001 oz less than stock and it's RED.

None of us can tell you if you're ready. Only you can answer that. Driver mod is the only one that matters.

So. Are you ready?

Recommend watching a few YouTube videos that will help you get a feel for the layout. Try to memorize all the turns and play them back in your head with your eyes closed. If you can't do a turn by turn in your head, go back to the videos. Rinse and repeat. Take advantage of the track review ride, which usually only happens the first day after the drivers meeting. Good luck and remember to ease into it!

Good advice. Plenty of videos to watch. I've watched the video below over and over and have a pretty good mental image of the track at this point.
