Wire-brush rotor hats, ultimate OCD?
I saw a guy do this on you tube. So today I put 10mm spacers on the rear, didn't like the poke. Moved them to the front - perfection!
While I had the wheels odd & polished the crud/corrosion build-up off the rotor hats. They really came out nice! Look brand-spankin' new. One 2" disc & one 2" drum-style wire brush drill bit did all 4 wheels. You can't get into the real tight spaces - and you risk damaging the rotor - but what you can hit turn out real nice & sparkly. The shot of the dirty hub is actually one of the cleaner ones, from the front. The 2 fronts were in better cosmetic shape than the rears. All cleaned up real nice & easily with the drill. If you do this, mask your calipers with double layer of tape. OCD relieved!! Bonus - it was gratifying to the noggin to do the work, too.
