Windshield same as m240i?

Hey all, I made an appointment with safelite to have my windshield replaced and the details said m240i. I called and told them that I drive an m2 comp and that the windshield may be different . I was reassured by them that it was the same part and looking at the parts number it looks like all the 2ers have the same windshield.

The guy came by in the afternoon, takes a look at my car , and says this is definitely the wrong windshield, it's not even shaped the same. The windshield did have sharp edges on it while the car has rounded edges. But now I'm not sure who to believe / what to do next .

Is the 240i and m2c windshield the same? Did the tech get it wrong or did safelite just send the tech the wrong part?

Unsure on the answer but when I needed a chip repair safelite marked my car as a m240. Fortunately it didn't matter for a chip fill in

Well, it seems like it fits many models...

Whether it's the same colour and supports the same features is probably more model specific.

It's the same. I had the same issue with Safelite. They came with a M235i/M240i windshield. Fits perfectly.

Oh that's strange. The technician said it wasn't even the right shape. Maybe they ordered a 2022 m240i windshield but i highly doubt that..

Same Issue Here!

Yup, I just started a claim thru Progressive, which takes you to a safelite page and it defaulted (and locked) 230i for the model. Can't be right. I'm gonna call.
