d088 oil cooler arrived today. Ordered from Turner on 8/11 (Friday) and got it today (8/16). Much faster than expected!

It definitely maximizes all available space with not much room for variances. We mounted the e39 aux pump down that way, so had to change a cpl things for the oil line to connect spot on, but it’s on the car.

Corner balance, alignment, and track brake switch tomorrow, so hopefully set up for the track next week. Still have to open that day up for fun in my biz calendar.

If he solves the IAT issue to keep them <125F on a laps like those, there will be a good bit more power being produced which will only increase the coolant and oil temp reduction needs for the car.

The power decrease from high IATs like that is very noticeable on track, and it’s helping him keep the engine cooler right now. Slap on a better IC, and be prepared to go whole hog on coolant and oil upgrades.
Probably why my oil and coolant temps are great on my stock OG. I’m seeing IATs over 160 though lol.

Any updates ZM2 or M2guru ? I have the CSF oil cooler but haven't installed yet. I have the CSF intercooler and it does seem to help quite a bit with IATs.

OP, can you measure the fin density (and overall measurements) on the CSF?

83* ambient, CSF saw a max IAT of 130* running BM3 S2 91 on track.

How much modification is required to fit a VRSF Race? Front bumper has to come off?

You need to use a M235i v Brace or cut yours and that would require the bumper to be removed I believe. Otherwise pug and play like anything else.

fin density: 5 per cm or 13 per inch

front section thickness: 54mm
front section height: 235mm

rear lower section thickness: 198mm
rear lower section height: 140mm

width: 490mm (I measured the portion that air can travel through - not including the end tanks)

I have photos if you want to check my math.

Fin Density Comparison:
MAD HD: 11/inch (estimated from photo)
CSF: 13/inch
VRSF (HD pack): 19/inch (per their post here)

MAD has a revised fin pack, which is 16/inch for the 5 and 7" race. My VRSF was 18/inch

Any downside to the M235i brace? How do they differ?

Technically speaking, the M2's brace has additional mounting to the chassis and is triangulated, meaning it should be stronger. I'm not an engineer, but this is what I've read up on chassis stiffing.

Also, chassis stiffening will not make you faster, or handle better objectively (Again, from my own research) but it can help with feedback and suspension geometry.

The braces are as pictured below.

M235I PN 51647245789 (#4)

You can see the ER intercooler comes with it's own brace as a replacement:
