M2 DCT vs E92 M3 roll races

A friend shared this with me earlier today. I haven't seen it on here yet so figured I'd post.

Wow the M2 pulls HARD. It made the M3 look like it wasn't even in the right gear.

M3 flooring it at 3k rpms lol. These cars should be almost identical on highway pulls but the M2 might pull ahead. Just not by that much though geez.

Where do you see revs? I can't even hear the motor with all the wind either

Why would they be identical? M2 is around 100kg lighter, dynos around the same hp but with around 120Nm(!) more torque. Judging by the way the e92 takes off initially, they're in the right gear (no turbo lag). I think street racing is stupid and bad as well, but considering Nazi scientists got us into space, nothing is without merit.

TL;DR
M2 has an extra Chevy Sonic worth of torque on the M3 and weighs less, so it is able to accelerate faster, in this instance and under these conditions.

Well according to C&D the M2 is only 0.2s faster through 1/4 mile and both at 113 mph if comparing DCT vs DCT and 0.3s diff if M2 DCT vs M3 manual, still both at 113 mph.

This M3 driver must be the OP of the current thread "How many of you haven't seen redline?"

Ok, you're standing at the end of a 1/4 mile track. One car goes by at 113mph, then 0.2s later another car goes by doing 113mph, the distance between those two cars is 10m, or 30 feet. If the race ends with me 30 feet ahead of you, I would call that quite convincing evidence that I have accelerated faster than you over the course of the race.

Relax. This is coming from me who doesn't give a farting fart about who has a faster car. I'm just surprised by the video and have to attribute it to manual transmission and driver error, but sure maybe the M2 really is the love child of Chuck Yeager and an N55 intake. FWIW, E90 to E90 M3 I've walked a manual in a DCT car just like in that vid. It's not exactly a closed course.

Uh... didn't you post that the M2 is 0.2-0.3s faster over a 1/4 mile than an e92 M3? That translates to approximately a bus length. The only surprising thing is that there are people who can't accept a car nearly as fast as an M4 is indeed faster than e92 that debuted what, 10 years ago.

At that speed I'd venture to guess they should've been in 4th or possibly 3rd. From the take off seems like they where in 5th to me.
