Immediately after installing my Richland Forged wheels mounted on my stock tires on my M2C I noticed a drastic increase in tire/road noise. My car is lowered on H&R springs. The noise was not there after installing the springs on the stock 788M wheels. I know these cars are noisy stock but the road noise has increased significantly to the point where it's difficult to talk to the passenger and headache inducing if driven a long time.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, did you find a cause and solution?

1. What size wheels did you go with? Larger, or stock sizes? Sometimes if you're stretching the tires a bit you can get increased noise.

2. What are your pressures? Should be 35/35 (I run 33/31), and higher than that can cause noise.

1. Larger. 9.5 front, 10.5 rear. With stock tires sizes so they are stretched a bit but they are the minimum for the wheel size.

2. Checked the pressures. Took a psi or two out, 34/35 now.

Stretching the tire, like rotating, causes the tire to run on areas it's not used to running on, so that'll definitely cause noise until the tires get used to it. And higher psi will cause noise as well. 35/34 is great, run that for a few weeks and see how it is. If it's still noisy, drop it to 33/32. A lot of guys run those pressures anyway for a bit softer ride and more grip.

Thanks for your responding and for the suggestion. It seems that the stretch is the only logical reason.

Dayuuuum - this is pure hotness!!! Just checking - is this Satin Bronze right ? Awesome photography for sure, but the rims and M2C surely steal the show

So, I have a set of Bilstein PSS 10 B16s, moderately lowered rocking the stock 788s and PSS tyres, and 10mm front spacers and 5mm at rear (heights as follows: ~ 10mm fender gap all around, which resulted in about 608mm front and 610mm rear. Measurements from lower edge of rim, through center roundel cap, to the fender edge).

Would it be safe to assume that with the GT4 M2C specific offsets, I wouldn’t be needing the spacers? Also, I am rubbing ever so slightly at full lock both ways, but it doesn’t bother me.

I’m gonna pull the trigger on these this year, just wanting to foresee how they’ll fit with my current suspension getup.

Appreciate the sentiments. The finish option depicted in previous post is the "Ice Gold" option. Photographer edits/filter make the finish a bit more "bronze/warm" in the photos, than in reality. Correct in assumption that spacers need not apply on our M2 setup. Will be equivalent to your front poke/stance in front, and just a tad less on the rear as our 10.5" ET44 is 2mm more aggressive than the stock 10" ET40. Some have run our M3/M4 10.5" ET35 rear in the past, but that will be 11mm more poke/stance than stock. Happy New Year!

Happy new year 🎊 y’all!!

richlandforged - as always, really appreciate the input!

Per your comment, while the front seems to be set, looks I may still need to fiddle with spacers in the rear (Turner makes some 3 mm spacers) if I want to retain the current look and keep same size Michelin PSS.

However, I’ve been eyeing the Michelin PS4S in these sizes 255/30/19 and 275/30/19 as I keep reading on this forum they’re an improvement over the stock PSS, and while at it, bump up a size or two no 😜?

With the new tires, I reckon that no spacers will be required nor will I experience extra rubbing…seems that given tyre size combo + the GT4 and a modest coilover drop most users don’t use spacers.
