I'm also interested in the AFE. The single mid, and low price point are why I want it, but it's hard to find any videos of it. The 3" center section turns most people away from it, but it doesn't mean it's not a good exhaust.

I replaced the downpipes and it took me a while , like 4 hours. the video is coming.

Yes but it's not needed, he also disconnected the motor and lifted it with a brace, completely overkill.
How are you dealing with the OPF delete and codes/limp mode?

People still interested in an Akra group buy? I have some contacts with Akra, if we have people seriously interested I can ask my friend once we know the exact number of people.

And on an other note, is there an exhaust system that doesn't have the crackles? Maybe I am too old school or just plain old but I really don't like the obnoxious sound of the crackles.

It's not the exhaust that produces the crackles and pops but instead the engine tune that squirts some fuel in to the cylinder on the cylinder's exhaust cycle. This unburnt fuel hits the hot exhaust gases and then ignites. I like the brrrp on the overrun when shifting gears on hard acceleration but I've grown to hate the crackles and pops on deceleration.

Most of the exhausts seem to makes the crackles louder. I just got the car yesterday, but I can't imagine the car crackling like that with the stock exhaust? Most of these aftermarket systems do not have resonators or center mufflers, I assume that is what keeps the stock system crackle free ?

Put it in Sport+ and you should get crackles and pops. I agree aftermarket and M Performance exhaust make the entire exhaust louder, including crackles and pops.

I think I should be able to organize something if we get 6 people, I would definitely be 1 as well.

Awaiting on pricing from my contact at Akra.

actually it is a combination of both. btw your are correct. the overun is mad by pulling timings and with a post injection.

Hi everyone. I'm taking delivery of my M2C next week and I couldn't have felt any more excited been researching the numerous threads on Bimmerpost past couple of months and came across this very interesting discussion.

Equal-length exhaust discussion: new S55 sounds https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1675268

Anyone here who has tried this on their M2C or has heard this on M3s and M4s and can provide any input on this setup for the M2C?
