The Eisenmann Race exhaust:

Attachment 1995738

Retains all the emissions crap, loses a ton of weight and still uses the factory valves so you can creep around silently.
Did I mention it is super light and Eisenmann are renowned for making the best sounding exhausts on M cars.

Also its cheap at 1800 euros.
Any chance you have a sound clip of this setup???

I too personally think Eisemann makes the best s55 exhaust note and it pairs perfectly with the AA mid pipe.
Give us a sound clip if you can!

And on an other note, is there an exhaust system that doesn't have the crackles? Maybe I am too old school or just plain old but I really don't like the obnoxious sound of the crackles.
I'm in for the akra group buy.

There was talk here of them doing that exact thing. I'll see if I can dig up the thread.

EDIT: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1675268 I thought in here there was mention of Miltek, but doesn't look like it. Regardless, it's a good thread to watch the progress of the exhaust, and get a bunch of clips on how it sounds.

There’s a quick video on Milltek Facebook page.
I’m not sure how to lift the video to post on here - sorry...

From my email communication with Milltek -
‘Yes this is now equal length system as close as is practical without lots of cuts and welded pieces to maintain the pipe diameter / flow and not increase back pressure. We got it within 18mm / ¾’ length difference on the left and right hand banks of the system now’

They will be releasing the system from pre-order end of next week and first shipments around 16th March onwards.

They will also be able to offer the new parts as an upgrade for existing Milltek Sport M2C owners.

It sounds great but I'm worried about the drone since it removes the center resonator

Interesting... AA is also teasing an equal length. Still not sure how I feel about the sound compared to, say, a single mid.

Whilst I’ve not heard it in person yet, the guys at Milltek said there’s no drone or resonance in the car at all.

I wonder if you will be able to fit this to remus back box?

Picked the car up today - massive difference for the better.
To my ears I think it sounds awesome.
Deeper tone and although I couldn’t really give it loads through the gears due to traffic, what bit I could give it some it is streets ahead of when i took it to Milltek.
Doesn’t look to be an H or X pipe on it, but I haven’t really had a proper look.

Also, I managed speeds of 70 (and a tad more..) and there’s absolutely zero resonance or booming.

I’d love to do a drive by video, but I don’t possess a GoPro..
Anyone in the Notts, Derby’s, Leics areas fancy hearing it I’m more than happy to meet up.

Milltek just put some new photos up on their Facebook page today. Not sure what to think about all of this. It seems like an artificial way to change the natural sound and characteristics of the S55. Adding additional metal piping, bends, and weight, all just for sound? In some regards, isn't this more sacrilegious than ASD?

Anyone else reminded of this Simpsons episode?

Probably not for me, but I'm interested in hearing clips nonetheless.

There’s about an extra 18 inches of pipe, but a resonator taken away.
So probably lighter than it was and a hefty amount lighter than the OE exhaust anyway.

It’s not making an artificial sound, but trying to gain the natural sound of the 6 cylinders.

How is this any different than putting a different exhaust on the S55? How do you feel about AA's single mid, it changes the sound quite a lot. Other car people changing out their headers for equal length, it's been around for ages. It makes for an awesome sound, and can also improve performance. On an R32, Mine's offered an equal length down pipe back in the 90s. It goes way way back before that, nothing new about it.

Wait wait wait. The Miltek EL looks like it's just an axle back, which means it'll pair with just about any mid-pipe out there. Let's see what AA came up with!
