Very impressed. The M has a serious presence. It looks like a short F82 to some extent. Smooth rear quarters are very wide! This car will be a win for sure, mostly to due to performance from price point.

Was it the finished production model M2?What was the color, did it have the M4 wheels, steel roof or carbon fiber, did it just have the M235i seats? We already pretty much know all of this from the info that has been posted here but can you give more details about the car?

However ....

It is very hard to get excited about the M2 test mule's sound if you hear something like the E92 or E39 (or E46 or E60 or E36 or...) M.

In fact I find the farting of FI engines really disturbing, it's like buying a record with scratches on it; for some seconds you hear a clear note that excites you and then all of a sudden a tiny moment that screws it all up.

I really really hope that there is a solution to solve this...

There is. You can get turn off the overrun (at least with the s55 anyway).

Don't get me wrong, you won't find a bigger fan of the S65 sound, but that's really apples vs oranges IMO

MQUEEF. That tag was denied by GA for my M3

I'm in line for an M2. Not sure if I'm trading the M3 or adding to the stable "for my wife"

Yeah, I guess it would be a downgrade. The M4 is fantastic and beastly. But no denying it's a big GT. My last lease was 2013 135is with DCT. I love the size of the 2er.

Thanks for the feedback, it's always good to hear from actual owner's perspectives.

I'm still considering the M3 because it is practical and the S55 has ridiculous potential, but I also love the size of the 2ers. Small(ish) car, RWD, Inline 6, fun to drive. This has always been BMW's forte.
