I don't understand why they would pay so much more for the brakes that come standard on the car but in a different color. What am I missing because I am trying to figure out what would have made paying $6,000 for red paint on the brake calipers a logical decision?

I'm curious as to the difference between M Performance Suspension and Adaptive M Suspension. And I agree about the Red brake calipers pricing. It's absurd considering they already come standard (in blue). If you go to say Alfa Romeo's website and spec out a QV, you can choose the brake calipers in 3 variants as an option that just costs $350.

I saw those wheels on a white M4CS at my local dealer and just couldn't quite get into them. I don't like them on the M2 either.

Very nice look!
But the MP parts are really ridiculus expensive...more than 50% of baseprice of the whole car for some additional parts...: Yes BMW, it is carbon fiber, but we have 2019! not 2009, when cf was more rare and expensive to produce compared to nowdays... |

Let's celebrate that this is a car you can order and pick up from the Welt / Performance Center / Dealership looking like this.
In 30 years at Christie's Auto Auction, it will be the full M Performance versions that will fetch the highest price. Black on black isn't my thing. This car looks awesome.

In Europe we don't have big brakes as standard equipment, so if you want to upgrade from 'blue brakes' to big brakes after purchased the car (FE if you buy an used car) the m performance kit with red calipers is the only way to go. No sense if you already have the 'grey brakes' instead.

Looks really nice, although IMO not 112,149 Euro nice....not by a long shot.
Perhaps festooning a car with thousands of Euros worth of M performance CF components appeals to some, yet much of that expensive ballast has very little effect on the vehicle performance. However, I can see a big poser appeal in a car "decorated" in that manner. If that is really wanted, why not "decorate" the car with ABS components instead for a fraction of the CF cost, wherever CF is nor warrantied structurally, and then put the money left over into uprating the engine output/drivetrain, interior comfort features and such. |
