No 2021 models at that rate. 2.85% for 2021 models is the current rate. Hoping the rate will change in August for the '21 models to drop to .9% August is usually a soft month for car sales.

Man who is BMW kidding? They should just make it 0.9% across the board as the car situation and economy are not really improving exponentially. And especially with what we're seeing with a pause in opening and Europe cutting off US vista, I dunno.

On the other hand, I get it that they want to move the MY20s off lots. But for a M2C, it is also a niche market.

Yeah their captive is already struggling from very bad residuals, so I bet they are trying to hedge while still incentivizing moving units.

The higher rate applies to all '21 models, not just the M2. Looking at a new X5 and the rate is the same. So instead of a sale in a slow market I'm just going to wait. They are bound to make it apply to the '31 models at some point but will just have to see what the next month's rate is.

I have a quote for $62,000 out-the-door on a 2020 M2C with Exec package and DCT. The .9% financing still applies for the rest of July. It is the spec I want, but it is 1,200 miles away.

So, what are your opinions on this deal? Get the spec while I can, try to negotiate a better price with the dealer, or hold out for the 2021s and hope BMW has good deals going?

Thanks for your input.

Vague post? I asked a clear question.

There have been numerous posts here discussing the current discounts, or lack of. My post was a question of how likely I am to get a better deal from that dealer or would I be better off trying to get bigger discount on the 2021s.

If you have some insight, feel free to share it with me.

Ok. Here you go.

Your out the door could be xxx. My out the door could be "xxx"plus 3200.

Why. Because I live in Chicago and pay like 10% tax.
Maybe you have a trade and there is no tax.

Local dealers now have a 300 doc fee. Last December it was 183.

Others states have like a 90 doc fee.

Gwinnett place gives you like 10% off but then charges a 900 doc fee and marks up money factor .

The doc fee is universally understood to be pure profit.

Long rant for ... I don't want to go to bmw website and build your car to get msrp. Metallic paint ? Sounds like a no.

What is your local tax rate ? Who knows.

I don't want to guess in the doc fee you are getting charged.

Therefore the best way to compare deals is

Msrp
Discount off msrp
Doc fee

Then I could compare my local Chicago deal with a few from someone in Idaho or Montana.

What about plates / title? Those vary from state to state .

Hope this helps frame why I say your post is vague.

Not a jab at you , just trying to help. Seriously

Not sure if this is the correct spot for a post like this, but couldn't find any other info...has anyone else had issues getting a dealer to allow a test drive prior to negotiating an offer? I've spoken with multiple dealers (SoCal) and all have said that we either need to essentially reach a deal or actually sign a contract (and then cancel if theres an issue) to test an M2C. I get the general rationale, but as a serious buyer I'm not particularly inclined to basically work out a deal prior to test driving. Curious if anyone has experienced this and if there are ways to actually test.

In short Complete bs .

I can understand dealers doing want teens to launch the car but if your are a normal buyer they should be able to let you test drive.

When I was looking at getting an allocation for my 2020 M2C, I had two dealers lined up for test drives. Drove one, ended up buying from the other-- it was never remotely a problem.

Having the SA go with you so you don't ham hand the car, do burnouts, or mess with the run-in protocol? Fair enough.

But if they won't let you test drive the car at all?

Walk away.

Just my 0.03.

Any update on August rates? Not stupid enough to expect any sort of incentives on M2C, but I am hoping 0.9 financing is added for 2021 MY.

My CA says current interest rate for 2021 M2C is 1.9% for 60 months. So it sounds like August program is:

2020 0.9%
2021 1.9%

Been lurking here for a while and finally putting a deposit tomorrow for a LBB, DCT, ExecPkg and moonroof (wifey request). Most of the dealers won't budge but I was finally
able to get 5.75% discount.

If you're willing to do PCD or have shipped, my CA may be able to do better. She had 5 allocations for M2Cs as of this morning.
