Paint 437 or switch to 788?

Trying to decide if I should powdercoat my stock 437's gloss black or pick up a used set of 788's?

No doubt that they're nice looking:

But I've blacked out most of my car (including the headlights) and I feel like silver/gray 5 spokes wouldn't really look agressive enough with my darth vader theme

I don't know man, I see the Ferric 437's as the solution to every M2 haha.

Can't wait to get my custom 763's, then I'll have the best of both worlds.

I agree that ferric 437s are the better looking wheel...on darker cars. For lighter cars (silver, white) I think they need to be darker. The sweet spot for me is the anthracite of Apex wheels. A set of ARC-8s in anthracite are timeless wheels that will look good on any BMW.

Damn, I love Ferric on the lighter cars too. Sucks that there are so few pix of them.

I have a friend that's about to buy a white M2, and I hope he gets a set of Ferric 437's because I want to photograph it properly so bad.

I like the 763s, I just don't LOVE them for that kind of money. That and the rears aren't concave at all. An issue I also have with the 788s.

I'll probably end up going with the powder coat on the 437s since it's relatively inexpensive in comparison to a new set of wheels. If I'm still unhappy I'll go back to the drawing board.

And isn't that a bit part of the fun of modifying a car? Making it your own through trial and error.

I'd love to see you get a set of custom color 437's, something everyone can drool over but can't have.

I see your point! Just looked at my wheels and damn if they aren't pretty flat. They don't go concave until near the hub. Maybe that's why I LIKE but don't LOVE them.

I'm usually a boring OEM kinda guy. You might have just cost me a bunch of money pointing that out

Sometimes I wish I would have kept my 437's and powdercoated them black. Definitely the way to go.

Not sure about downgrading from forged to flow formed wheels though.

Also seems like the only black available is satin. I'd want gloss.
