advice on mods i'm thinking of doing

I have a M2C. I'm tired of waiting for BM3 availability with the locked ECU. Considering the following:

JB4
VRSF Intercooler
BMS charge pipes
VRSF downpipes
BMS meth kit

I would be running 93 pump gas and would run maps 1, 2 or 8. Does anyone have a similar package and what feedback do you have? What type of gain would I be getting? Should I have any concerns about the DCT clutches? Any other concerns folks would point out?

Thanks

I'd skip jb4 and go for ECUTEK instead

The intercooler and charge pipes will not add any power.

The only charge-cooler worth a damn is the Wagner one in combo with the radiator.

JB4 and piggy backs are sketch and remove ECU protections...

Two guys above didn`t read obviously.
Since the ECU is locked, JB4 is the best option if you dont want to remove your DME, which sounds like something you dont want to do.

"JB4 removes ECU protections" true for some things, but JB4 also has built in protections. It`s rather safe to use because of that. If my memory serves, fastest F8X cars all have JB4 installed.

I agree that power is fun and more power is even more fun, but I'll suggest that instead of modifying the car, modify the driver and spend the money on driving schools.

It's more fun, you'll appreciate what the car can do and you will become a better and faster driver. And that knowledge and those skills won't go away when you trade in the car.

You don't need the intercooler, the stock unit is great.

I think that is long past and no piggy back will ever be as good as a standalone ECU.

Agree with the above poster, driver mods do more than anything unless you are drag racing. In which case just buy a hellcat or the like.

JB4
VRSF or AA downpipes
AA midpipe

That’d be my list. I don’t think they’re going to solve this latest ECU lockout. I had a JB4 on my ‘10 135i N54 with catless DPs and it transformed the car into a freakin beast. So much fun. I can’t imagine driving an M2C stock, honestly.

Good list, make sure you get everything for one vendor for combo deals.

Good luck

a piggy wont address all the things a flash will do, but a piggy isn't removing the safeguards either and they work well for what they are designed. RaceChip or Jb are good options . RaceChip now has launched some warranty for engine protection as well.

Bought JB4, AA mid-pipes, VRSF downpipes, BMS charge pipes and Agency Intercooler. Ordered from Mike @ x-ph.com --- he was super great to work with. Can't wait to get it put together. Will update then.
