I have rattles from passenger seat at 1500~1800rpm under load, outside of that rev range it's fine. I know it's passenger seat because it is not there when there is a passenger.
Anyone have the passenger seat rattle and fix? Thanks.

Fixed! They had it for a day and a half only. They didn't have to release and slide back the whole dash as the PUMA suggested which was good. You never know if something starts rattling inside the dash after that. The PUMA is for the right side only but they did the left side too anyway as they had the windscreen out and everything.
Very very very nice to have the klicking noise gone |

Do you have the PUMA number or any other information so I can follow up with my dealer? I think you mentioned the basic of the fix but any more details would be appreciated. |

My rattles in the rear came back very intermittently after my first fix, so I knew I had found the culprit, but clearly hadn't done a good enough job, so I went back and redid it. I put much more thick velcro tape in the area this time. Felt side only.
The doors don't click into place, I just let them rest on the felt. They don't move at all now and there is 0 buzzing now during my extremely loud cold starts (dp+exhaust) Happy that it was a simple fix. Those deck lid clasps sure do like to chatter. |

mines makes a loud noise behind A pillar...
Also when I put a 3000w amp and 12" RF P3 lots of rattles obviously...stuffed some insulation around the space over the trunk and anywhere I heard rattles....removed almost every trunk and rear seat panel (and rear seat) and used DEI Spray on sound/heat insulation....Now its sounds great....Still BMW is so solid, with seats up, you can barely hear sub...1 seat down and it is the loudest single subwoofer Ive heard no exxageration....

Regarding the yellow plug, I thought it was the black bar in the middle that is loose. I fix that black piece. Rattle seems going away a little bit but still there. Did you mean the entire yellow thing that's loose?

The clicking noise in the right A-pillar I had in my car that was fixed (PUMA 63324690) wasn't completely fixed The clicking itself sounds the same but it's much less frequent now. It seems to be temperature dependent and we've had below zero weather for a while. Anyhow, it's going back for another go.

Serious question: do Porsche's rattle this much? I have a 12 year old 330i that is totally silent and a brand new M2 that rattles like crazy. On uneven/roughly paved asphalt, it sounds like someone is jingling a can of coins inside the car. The reason, I've been told, is the tight suspension - so does this exist in other "fast" cars?

Some rattles are to be expected in a track-oriented car with removed sound deadening. I recently watched this review of a 6GT. Ignoring the looks, I was impressed at the measures taken to reduce noise and cancel vibrations. But, they add a lot of weight.

Not to long ago I started to hear a new rattle, this one coming from the middle of the back seat. I have foldable seats. The middle part where the foldable arm rest is I can fold down the whole middle section to be able to load long things like skis or something through it.
With the whole middle section up and closed - rattles With only the arm rest folded down - rattles With the whole center piece folded down - NO rattles what so ever. Anyone know a fix? Or know a puma on this? |

My M2 is too new for rattles, but it's very interesting to read about all the different rattled people are hearing in the M2. I owned an M235 for 3 years and 30,000 miles and I was so impress that it had ZERO rattles. It's plausible that the stiffer suspension is the source of the difference between the two.
