Other than that, I'm sure they are fine cars.
You must be a blast at parties.

I'm really looking forward to having this very setup come spring.

Agreed. Although not necessarily a deal killer for me, I am also put off by the over-styled front bumper.

I am counting on the aftermarket community to provide a solution of some sort.

I love the front and the side of the M2, not sure what I think of the rear. I like the 1M rear better
I like the from of the M2 better. Both cars look good from front quarter angle , but the 1M looks far better from rear 3/4 angle and full rear.

The rear bumper on the M2, the vertical reflectors and the way it mates up the quarter really just doesn't come off well to me.

The M2's sculpting of the rear makes it look like it sits up higher. I prefer cars that sit low and wide, like the 1M.

The M2 doesn't seem to be growing on me.

If related to colors and liquors, almost accurate IEDEI (but you know the story below):
  • the internal code name for the E92 M3 GTS was "Jägermeister";
    "BMW M GmbH chief Kay Segler says the internal code name for the M3 GTS was «Jägermeister», a reference to the famous German digestif and frat fuel with a history of sponsoring motorsports" (sources: here, here and here)
  • the internal code name for the E82 1M was "Pyrat";
    "Before the 1 Series M Coupe was given its official designation, BMW M referred to the model internally as «Pyrat», allegedly because of the engineers' affection for a spiced rum of the same name" - "Above all else it's a car that allows the M Division to fly the pirate flag once again within BMW and in some ways the automotive world. And it all sort of makes sense considering the code name for the 1M is «Pyrat». A name inspired by late nights creating the car followed up by later nights drinking Pyrat Rum" (source: here, here and here)
  • the internal code name for the F87 M2 was "Pyrat2" (though, as we know, the launch color is cocktail blue (Long Beach Blue), as in the tropical Blue Lagoon cocktail featuring the Blue Curaçao liquor)
    "The code nickname for the M2 is «pyrat2». Why pyrat2? If you recall, the 1M coupe's nickname was «pyrat»" (source: here)

Look at the rear of the white ///M235i early posted here........it is awful flat IMHO and it does look weird compared to the M2 who`s Latina ass is more to my liking

Apart from the headlights I think the M1 is a better looking small sports car

The new M2 looks way better. I think the rear lights could have been better.

Who ever drove the M2 could have at least done us the courtesy of backing in straight... Almost impossible to compare accurately.

I absolutely loved the 1M. It looked mean, very aggressive and like a proper sports car. Hoping the M2 is the same in person!

Now that we see them side by side in the same lighting I have to say they look very different and will attract different buyers just like the 1M v E9X M3. The 1M is more old school cool with its fender flares while the M2 is very modern, sharp, and sleek.

Hard to compare BMW's new design under Karim v Bangle. They are very different. I love them both but I'm more Old School Cool

Nice comparison.

The side by side really starts to show the age in the 1M's face. Though that ass on the 1M takes it every time.

Agreed - M2 looks better from the front, 1M from the back - although the rear of the M2 looks much wider.

Can't fixed the scared cat look of the 1M - better than a regular E82, but not a pretty face at all...

I agree, although the rear would not deter me from getting a M2 at all.
