Great to see those of you finally getting to enjoy your cars!

Update on mine: Still at port (I think a week now?). Then another ~13 days to cross the ocean, so I think I'm at least 2.5-3 weeks out.

I visited a few local PPF installers yesterday and think I got one picked out. One was working on those badass new Vettes, that was purdy. Haven't decided on CeramicPro, I think I will ceramic myself. Will also head to Tirerack Warehouse and pickup some all seasons for this nice 30 degree weather we're having.

Mine is the same way. Becoming unacceptable. This happened with my last ED...it waited at the port for like 2.5 weeks. Problem for me now is that it's going to put my car at the Performance Center in late November to early December, which I've already told my CA is not just unacceptable, but not doable for me. Will be interesting if I have to tell him sorry I have to cancel because I cannot go get the car now. Starting to feel it's doomed.

You jinxed us all!

Kidding. Kind of.

My car status is "awaiting carrier assignment".

I hit final assembly in June - it's 2020 model slated for early May production but delayed from covid factory shutdowns.

Yikes, assume you are having it sent directly to you?

Yeah, I happily took the hold out deal and had it shipped. It wasn't much compared to ED but something to ease the pain.

I did forget to add that my CA told me I was going to get that (or something perhaps similar to it) from BMW. He wasn't sure on the specifics and it wasn't much (hint, equal in value to the BMWCCA rebate). My biggest issue is still that I will not, and honestly cannot, drive mine home on/after November 15. As far as I know mine's still at the port and the earliest yet-to-depart ship to arrive in Brunswick is mid-November per the Wallenius schedules. If it takes a couple weeks to get from ship to Performance Center, then I'll have to be the guy that says yea sorry, you have to figure it out because I'm not taking it. Beyond frustrating, but honestly, I'm to the point where it just is what it is with this car.

Yes - The only unfortunate part is that the dealerships tire balancer was offline so I limped home carefully on the summer tires. And the BMW dealership that is just up the street from my home can't get me in until next week. Would you guys trust an independent tire shop to swap out the rubber?

I've used the mobile tire installers in the past and have loved them...both ASAP tire and it's successor here in LA ZipTire. If you have something like that where you are, they'll just come to you. It's amazing. If not, tire shops are seriously hit and miss...biggest concern I'd have is scratching/scuffing wheel face.

Nice!

My car just converted to dispatched from factory. Who told you which ship your M2C would depart with?

I got the vessel by calling 1.844.4GENIUS (and worked my way through to talk to a human). My SA sent it to me about 48 hours later.

Mine just moved to "In Transit!"

"Dispatched from factory," is apparently pre-port. "At the port," is waiting for the boat and then "in transit" is on the boat. The in transit is supposed to happen about 1-3 days after the boat departs, but no boat departed in the last few days on the route necessary for my car to be on it...so it's clearly behind there. CA can usually find what boat it's on after a while. I'm waiting for mine to let me know what's happening.

Edit. I believe I may be on the K-Line Orion Highway, which is scheduled to arrive in Brunswick on November 13. That unfortunately may not work for me time wise, so we'll see what CA says.

Any updates for anyone?

I'm still sitting on potential delivery of next week. It's supposedly off the boat and should be on its way here!

I took next week off to enjoy it before any major snow flies. Getting some PPF and all seasons.

I was supposed to be getting mine next week as well, but now there is a recall that they have to fix before delivery.

I meant to post but I'm kind of annoyed by it and didn't want to. My car won't be at the port until the 14th (per BMW), the 16th per the carrier schedule. Then, it has to clear customs before I can even make an appointment at the PCD. I told the PCD that this is unlikely to work, because I'm not taking the car if it means PCD after November 30. It'd be nice if they'd block some dates/alternates, but this this not the Germans at the Welt. So, best case scenario the car has to arrive and clear customs with a breeze and then they have to have open spots. I am not counting on it and basically I'm over it at this point. Doesn't help that the rumor is Porsche is ending ED as well.

Sounds like mine just got on a truck so I should be less than a week out 🤞. I am going to drive it straight to ceramic coating and have winter tires waiting for her at home.

Is this a new rumor? I don't want to get stuck on rumors but obviously with BMW ending ED - and me already planning one for a Porsche - I am a bit paranoid. In fact, I emailed them back in May and got written confirmation that Porsche still offers ED; however, clearly that was six months ago. With the ongoing pandemic, Porsche's ever-rising prices, and total lack of info on the 992 Carrera T, I had to push the plans back an entire year (aiming for July/Aug '22) ..which almost feels like giving them extra time to decide to end ED. I don't see why they would, however, as they don't give a discount anyway and, unlike BMW, they still make a decent amount of the P-car lineup in Germany.

It was being rumored on another ED thread, and apparently from someone on good information. Who knows for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me.
