Since I track in DSC OFF mode, will I still be able to experience the benefits you've described or will it only apply to the Euro MDM mode? Also just curious if you are running staggered or squared wheel fitment and wondering if that would affect the damper settings since I am on a square setup for track. Thanks again! |

The Euro setting is apparently only related to the tire monitoring system, so you should get all the benefits either way. Quote:
PS: The 2 click differential front to rear is also great on the road, not just for track. Cheers. |

Coded F82 GTS mdm, diff and steering on my OG lci today worked fine. Could feel the difference in the steering and the diff.
Unfortunately though after a few miles I got a drivetrain error on the Idrive. This appeared while giving it some, also had loss of power and only gears 2,4&6. It cleared with BimmerCode, so tried again and it reappeared. Now coded all back to F87 settings |

GTS steering definitely feels less artificially heavy and more natural, and I can actually use comfort mode for cruising around town now. The more I read up on these hidden modes the more I get confused though. So is DSC OFF it's own mode as well? I have my M Drive settings on MDM, Drivetrain Sport+, Steering Sport, and once I'm on track I hold the DSC button for DSC OFF after. In that case does that mean the DSC OFF reconfigures my M Drive settings to something else? Since you mentioned the Euro setting is related to the TPMS, I'm just wondering does the TPMS affect any other systems in the car? As 26 PSI is the ideal tire pressure on track, I constantly get the low tire pressure errors on the dash and I can't reset it to be at that pressure cause I guess it is too low from the manufacture specs. The GTS Differential does seem to be more reactive to throttle inputs and the car corners a little tighter than before. Although mine is a 6MT, even the shifting feels smoother if that makes any sense as I always found there to be some slop in the shifter engagement. I flipped the 2-click differential like you said and it does work very well. I'm still confused on as to why as I was expecting the car to be oversteery with the rear stiffer, but the car still handles fairly neutral and easy to catch when the rear does step out. Sorry for all the questions and thanks again for the tips. |

You can mix and match every steering/throttle/trans/DSC mode. Sometimes you need to deselect things (ie going from the boot up mode efficient engine + sport steering + DSC on to sport plus throttle makes the car want to turn on MDM mode). DSC off (long press of the DSC off button, DSC off light in dash on not MDM light on) is DSC off. The steering/throtle/trans mode you are in doesn't matter and shouldn't change. BTW I have my M2 button setup as your describe and I do the same thing of turning DSC off as I leave the pitlane. I have an EU spec car and don't have the low tire pressure problems lots of ppl on here describe. I do reset the sensors each time it complains though. I think the system is not looking for the vehicle specific pressures but +/- 3 PSI from what you set it at.

It's about weight transfer - with the fronts stiffer than the rears, what was happening was that the front shocks were pushing off weight faster than the rears, which unloads the front and means there isn't enough weight over the front tyres to to get good grip/turn in. It's obviously a balancing act - too much weight transfer to the front would also cause understeer, but 2 clicks difference seems to be the sweet spot. |

New to this ... have used bimmercode and bimmerlink but ESYS is new to me.
So we download the software, buy the correct connection hardware, find someone to do the coding, link to them over the internet with my windows computer with ESYS and voila? |

This was very concise and helpful guide to coding GTS Steering & MDM.
First, I updated the DSC, EPS, and GHAS ECUs to the latest via PSDz v4.40.11. No issues with DSC and EPS. GHAS gave me a timeout error for certain modules but still seemed to flash correctly. I was able to FDL code DSC and EPS to the GTS settings but I am not able to code GHAS for some reason. I believe I may have flashed too new of an ECU. This is the error message I'm getting: [] SVK-Ist does not match expected SGBMIDs for ecu ECUId:GHAS_0x0F. Excpected (relevant process classes only): [hwel_000007c1-003_001_001, btld_00001056-012_001_000, swfl_00001062-017_000_000, swfl_00001063-017_000_000], Actual (relevant process classes only): [hwel_000007c1-003_001_001, btld_00001056-012_001_000, swfl_00001062-019_000_000, swfl_00001063-019_000_000], Missing SGBMID(s): [swfl_00001062-017_000_000, swfl_00001063-017_000_000], Surplus SGBMID(s): [swfl_00001062-019_000_000, swfl_00001063-019_000_000] [THROWABLE] [GHAS - F] There was an error during TAL execution, please check the log files. To get around this, you either need to do a full update (to all modules), or check the dependencies table and make sure the versions you are sending to the modules are compatible. WT |

Thank you both for the help and suggestions!
widetyres I'm not seeing any dependencies in TAL-editor. GHAS isn't even listed in there. TheNine90 I have no red or blue within the GHAS module. Everything is black. I don't believe I pressed HWID from SVT actual when I did the initial VO coding. I'm also not seeing an option to reflash GHAS within VCM. I haven't had any codes pop up. Should I be able to see the module? Thanks! |

minor update: I was able to re-flash GHAS by using a previous day's TAL file. This time it finished with no errors. However, after I coded F87GTS I got a "Rear Axle Differential Lock" error on iDrive when i started the car. I cleared the code but it keeps coming back as soon as i start the car.
I changed the coding back to F87 but the error persists. I'll take it for a longer drive and see if it clears on it's own. EDIT: Solved! let the car sit for a while and took it on a short drive. Re-coded GHAS to GTS spec. No errors and no codes. Last edited by peyotepaul; 03-05-2023 at 09:46 PM.. |

Hey guys, if anyone needs a tool to code f87cs parameters (which will not be doable with the old esys launcher pro 2.8.1 which you can find on the forums) then you can use the protool app to do it. This app can code anything esys can, so it's literally a mobile esys.
Here's my review on the app and my guides on how to code the eps, ghas, and dsc: Main review: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=29968185 Guide on how to use Protool to Code: EPS module: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...4#post29968214 DSC module: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8#post29968208 GHAS module: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...7#post29968227 |

Comfort Sport Sport+ MDM (short press of traction control button) DTC off (long press of traction control button). Which mode you are in when you press the dtc button doesn't matter. The two modes that button enables are fully featured modes of their own with associated settings. There's a big chart floating around that is straight out of a tech publication from BMW. Appologies if I got any acronyms wrong, I'm doing this from memory. |

Hello, I have a 2017 LCI M4 and I just did the GTS coding by changing C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e (on DSC ECU), DSS IPM & TASC (on GHAS ECU) and variantencodierung normal (on EPS ECU) to F082GTS with E-sys.
It all went great and now I have GTS coding for LSD, Steering and MDM. Now I want to try this coding on an early F80 M3 2014 (before the GTS was launched) and I'm wondering if this will be possible to do like on mine without fully updating/flashing the ECUS to the latest version (on mine I just had to change the values above mentioned from f082 to f082GTS). Thanks! |

No, somehow the links in the embedded comment above are broken. The links in the original post are still functional and good. See this (the links are at the bottom of the first post in the thread):
