Suntek Matte PPF - full install pictures

I had a full Suntek matte PPF install + full ceramic including glass, wheels & calipers completed about two weeks back. I should have gotten the car done immediately but I ended up waiting 6+ months and the car needed a lot of extra prep-work before PPF install.

Getting full coverage and the matte was a last second decision. I was originally going to get the wheels / calipers and front bumper / hood but I knew I would regret partial coverage. Once I decided on full coverage the question of glossy or matte came up and I took a leap of faith.

These are shop pics, I have not had a chance to get anything good especially with all the smoke / haze in NorCal.

How does one clean matte finish cars? Assume it is as much different process vs. normal shiny finishes?

It's a PPF wrap. Same cleaning process as any other washing

Sunny day at last but the car is covered in brake dust. Changing to DS2500 next week and hoping for some improvement over OEM.

Yes. Matte PPF is easy to clean as opposed to matte paint. And in this case the PPF is ceramic coated as well which should make cleaning a breeze.

I like it! Does your paint still shift in different lighting with the matte ppf?

Another question, what is your wheel and tire specs? Just curious if you’re rubbing at all?

I have not seen the color shifts yet as the car is covered in brake dust and outside lighting has been crappy but others who have done HS in matte have said it does but subtlety.
The car has not been washed since PPF install as I have been waiting for the ceramic to cure. The shop that did the work is going to do a wash and full inspection of the PPF this weekend.

No rub at this height but I plan on going just a tad lower in the front.

Nice! Hopefully we can meet sometime, really want to check out your stealth ppf.

My wheels are similar in specs with the same exact tire setup and I’m kissing my liner on full lock but scrapes the upper liner when driving aggressively in my backroad twisties. I love my current height except it’s ruining my fun.

I'm not sure I've checked full lock, I'll have to do that next time I'm in the car. I've hit some gnarly bumps driving and have not bottomed yet.

I've been trying to make some of the gatherings but timing has not worked. We are pretty close - we could do an East Bay mini-meet. I want to hear that hard to find Dinan exhaust.

Many items were removed for cleaner install - front lip, rear wing, roundels, CF side thingies, grill, and more ...

Thanks, I always thought the oem parts were installed with beta link which could cause damage if removed. Glad to know it's possible.

The front lip is a cheap knock-off, no beta link used on install. If I'm not mistaken, most of the smaller parts are mounted with double sided tape.

Looks good! I almost went full ppf like this, but wasn't sure how it would turn out so passed.

Sunny Day and Clean Car, more pics

The sun was out, the car was clean and the parking lot was empty. These pics show how the HS still sparkles under the matte.

The second pics shows the 12" crack in the windshield (starting from the passenger A pillar and curving upward) courtesy of a rock storm on 880N near Avaya Stadium. This happened post PPF or I would be really ticked off.

Beautiful!

Ugh! I hate how 880 has so much debris everywhere all the time. Ever since I moved over to the east bay from SF I’ve got 3 windshields replaced due to rocks hitting it. Sorry about your glass!

Wow, 3 windshields replaced in a very short time. That puts things in perspective. I'm definitely happy I got the PPF done.

Sorry! I should've mentioned that the 3 windshields are from different cars.
