Arrow now the waiting but not long

Hello everyone from UK. First post here, just placed a deposit down for my first-ever M car . Still waiting for the credit check to go through, should know the answer by tomorrow, having been on 2 previous BMW financed loans, I can't see any problems.

The dealer promised me there is a build slot in March, so does that mean I will get in in April?

Also, trying to sell my current 420d convertible privately is proving difficult

Here's the spec on my M2:

F87 M2 Coupe N55 3.0i
Long Beach Blue
Black Dakota leather with blue stitching
Seven-speed Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) w/ DRIVELOGIC
Comfort Access
Elec Fr Seats + Driver Memory
Seat heating, front Driving Assistant

Thanks I saw one LBB on the road, that's how it kicked the whole purchasing idea off. And I always get compliments on my current 420d estoril blue.

By "build slot" do you mean an allocation will become available? From the time I got my alloction (production number) I believe it took almost four months to complete production. In the Ordering forums there is a thread where people are posting their timelines from ordering to delivery.

Congrats. It's a great car.

TBH I think the OPs done rather well at 6-7 months. He gets to have the colour & specs they want and still gets a relativly rare car in a not to unbearable time scale. I'm sure he could have it sooner if they don't wait for March 1st for the new registrations (i.e. newer car). I ordered my car in October '15 and will have waited 14 months before it arrives

Actually I can have a brand new car tomorrow. They have one on pre registered. But it's a monster hell of a spec and way out of my budget

Yay! Finance approved! Now I have 6 months to sell my 420d.

For paint protection, anyone recommend Gardx?

Absolutely categorically not, GardX is a complete and utter waste of money and something that baffles me how BMW can charge £300+ for...and most of the time it's a hidden charge in the "on the road price" - they just seem to slip it in...it's nothing more than a low end polymer applied by a dealership car washer. I learnt the hard way a few years back as it was something chucked in to my negotiation that I ended up getting for free...go get something like a ceramic coat by GTechniq or others for similar price.

Congratulations!

Try and push the dealer to make sure you register the car before 1st April so it doesn't fall foul of the changes in VED.

Don't pay £300 for GardX - in fact ask the dealer not to wash it at all and take it straight to a well regarded detailer to prep it.

Thanks for the advice on the paint protection.

With regarding to the tax, I thought the DCT falls into a lower tax band from April no? Also, they have already priced the tax cost into the total cost at £355 (1st Year Road Fund Licence Band I (176-185)).

Sorry to go from topic to topic, with the price of the car I have, does it not drop by the time I get my car? Or do they only factor in the cost now regardless when the car will be built?
