As for reliability, I did my first real drive yesterday morning... I wanted to push it hard for 40+ mins and make sure no issues came up before heading to the track in the coming months. Suspension, brakes, tires, performance... car is completely done so it was time. ZERO issues, was probably above 3k 90% of the time... car handled the thrashing like a champ and is definitely ready for the track

Catless DP, stock exhaust. I originally planned to get the Remus exhaust because it isn't crazy expensive, and truly bolts on... no cutting. After getting the catless DP and BM3 tune the car sounds perfect to me. With very little performance to be gained with any exhaust on the M2, I think I'm actually going to keep the exhaust stock... flaps open 100% of the time though
How does the BM3 change exhaust note, overrun (burble)? That's cool!

Also, what do you notice when there's a HPFP issue?

Tons of burble and pops, it really is perfect.

When the HPFP craps out the car looses smoothness for the last bit on the RPM climb. Doesn't feel like it's going to break, it's not a huge sudden loss of power, just doesn't feel right, it stutters and doesn't feel smooth anymore.

Thanks! May have to reconsider buying an exhaust, and spend that money on power!

Sweeeeeet ride!

I've got acouple questions. Do you get a check engine light from being catless? Is it coded out or does it says emissions ready?

Thanks

Coded out... getting my car smog checked won't be fun. I'm probably going to flash back to stock, put the downpipe back on, and find myself a very crooked smog tech who likes cash.

I would love to see another dyno on 93. 436 is impressive, but it looks like that was just a dip from the car spinning or diverter valve or something.

Brett at GFB confirmed to me last night that the correct DV for the M2 is the T9357 for N20. It fits M2 without any modifications even though M2 has N55.

the pains of being an early adopter lol. That drive to Pure Turbos took forever.

Norcalmav23, did you do injection kit eventually? Is your car doing fine now in summer?

Never committed to port injection or meth. Car has been 100% reliable and buttery smooth. I'm happy and until the car feels boring I'll probably stay away from further mods.

I was asking injection kit because I thought you'd hold 16-17psi up top instead of tapering to 14, which is basically stock turbo boost territory with similar hardwares on pump gas no meth. You make far more power at same boost that's for sure.

Rev it up to redline is more fun than short shift at below 6k...

Boost is boost, not making more of that up top with PS2 is clearly an indication of HPFP limit. It looks to me octane in your case is much less of an issue throughout the band at these low boost that PS2 is efficiently flowing.

BTW, did hiccup at top end go away?

You're absolutely right about the taper and the shifting at 5.5/6k to maximize the pull. Honestly, it's become second nature at this point to shift in that region at WOT. The hiccup at the top was ironed out through a few revisions but I never went back to the dyno because we also took torque down a bit. 565 wheel torque was too aggressive. I know there is a lot to be had up top with additional fueling. Maybe someday but I really am happy as is lol.

Still running version 7 of my tune. About 8k miles on the car since fully modded. Octane booster on every tank. Car runs beautifully, zero issues or regrets. Have that special moment everyday

Do you have to run octane booster or is it just for insurance? E85 mix or one of those octane shots?

Thanks for the update!

I run it to achieve 93oct. Big power difference between 91 and 93oct.

Norcalmav23, is it possible to have a low power tune on BM3 just for autocross days? Flash that tune when I get to the track and then flash the full power tune back on after race day.

I'm thinking you would want more of a stock power band when doing a tight autocross.

Absolutely, that's the beauty of the BootMod3 solution. Flashing literally takes 2 mins.
