There used to be, BMW M GmbH in Garching, Germany. The last M car produced there was the E34 M5 in 1995. Nowadays, you'll find that most M cars are built in the same plant as there regular series car whether be it a 2er, 3er, 4er.

The body of the M2 is built at the Leipzig Plant, then sent to the /// M Body Shop to have all the M Specific bracing installed, then the body returns to the regular series production line to be completed in it's entirety.

Within 1 of the 3 Central Buildings

Most the parts are available at the series production plant.

The M2 spends a short time at the M Body shop then returns to be finished alongside the other series production cars.
