UK dealer M2 supply is limited

A member asked me today where I got my amazing deal, I contacted the dealer to ask if it was ok to give his details to the member.

The dealer informed me they have sold all there
M2 allocations and they can't take any more orders till after April 2018.

Does this mean BMW are limiting sales to keep the M2 exclusive ?

Two Theories:

(1) Leipzig has temporarily run out of RHD-specific parts;

(2) Brexit fallout

I don't think its the brexit.
BMW are worried about brexit, if we don't make a brexit deal there will be an import charge and this will push the price up approximately 10% and this could affect sales. You would think they would be trying to sell as much as possible before March 2018

Dealer didn't say anything about they can't get the cars, he said they have sold all there allocations of the M2.

I nearly bought a car from Park Lane BMW around October but the dealer told me I would have to wait for 2018 as all their allocation was sold for 2017 so it's the same reason as you were told. You might go to a dealer somewhere else and they will have allocation available, it just reflects the number of M2s sold in that specific area.

Brexit gets blamed for everything these days!

I totally agree with you. If a deal isn't done it will only make car go up in price.

I think BMW are not stupid, they know if they limit an amazing M car it will keep the car in the lime light and this will sell more general cars

I'm not saying the M2 is a limited production, I'm saying they are controlling supply to keep the interest.

Of course, if the UK hadn't voted for Brexit, then the fact that Brexit didn't pass would now be getting blamed for all sorts of things . . . .

Reading the press around the world, you can pretty much blame everything on either:

(1) "Global Warming/Climate Change;"

(2) Donald Trump;

(3) Brexit

It might mean that orders on the current M2 are drawing to a close, as the M2 Competition/CS debut is relatively soon

Why would you stop selling months a head before new model. You would think they would take order up till the date of the CS, apple don't stop sell the old mode months before the new model.
