Help me out here.
In the spy photos you can see the M2 CS has fixed rear calipers. I understand that's with the CBB package. Also, the 3/4 series as well as the M3/M4 has the fixed calipers. Why it can be the same for the other lineups X6M/X5M, M5, M8/GC? It well give it a more completed wheel and caliper look. Other brands do it. That's my only gripe with BMW. |

All other newer BMWs have electric handbrake, thus floating calipers rear.

LA Auto Show is still far away! Frankfurt? That would be great if they show it next week!

M2 CS or 718 GT4
I would like to hear your opinion... I put a deposit on the M2 CS back in September 2016 (I know, looong time ago! I already had some internal info at that time ) I also put a deposit on a Porshe 718 GT4, which I should get by the 3 quarter of 2020. I can not buy both cars, which one should you (I) choose?

Practicality-wise, the M2 CS is the clear winner - it has back seats and it's much more under-the-radar without a tacky look-at-me wing. Another issue, of course, is price. The GT4 will start at six figures and if you've ever ordered/bought Porsches, then you know you get nickel-and-dimed for everything and can run up the cost options and find yourself with a different value proposition very quickly. We'll have to see what the M2 CS pricing looks like. |

Both would be great IMO, but what are you using the car for? If driving it everyday and wanting to use the extra space (4seats / larger rear trunk) the M2cs would be my pick. I think people underestimate practicality on the forums. |

This is so true. You see this on the Porsche forums, too. Even with my GT3 Touring, I have to admit I often don't grab the keys for it if (a) I need back seats for passengers, (b) I'm going somewhere where I would worry too much about having a $200K car, (c) I'm going somewhere where it would be inappropriate to stand out too much, etc. I never thought twice about taking out my M3s, unless the weather was particularly nasty or I needed a larger vehicle to haul stuff. And those scenarios just didn't arise all that much. The M3 or smaller (thankfully!) M2 CS is the perfect medium between race car for the street and daily driver for all of your normal driving needs.

I'm ready for the CS, and plan to drive the crap out of it. And not be so worried about where I'm driving, or who sees me in it. I feel uncomfortable when higher level execs see what I drive. Staff that have seen it tend to make public comments around the office. Edit: F-type SVR is what I'm referenceing. Not quite GT3 territory, but enough to stand out a bit. Not sure if mentioned already, but the latest prototype videos seem to show the CS with a different hood, similar to the M4 CS hood with a dip rather than a power bump.

Ah, my bad. I noticed from other angles the dip is still seen but there isn't any visible opening (at least not a big central opening). Like someone in your first link posted, seems to either be two vents coming off either side at a ~45 degree angle from the hood, or it's non-functional. Leaning toward the former with my fingers crossed.
