The sound from an iPhone video doesn't do it justice. I do love the jb4 function of opening and closing the exhaust valves. Quiet or fun as needed. Definitely a nice combination. |

Interesting. This thread took on a life of its own since I started it.
Too bad the exhaust still isn't available for you guys. I sure liked it from what I saw in the original video I posted, and like it in the recent videos posted of it. I have the MPE on my OG M2, and would probably go with Dinan if I had to do it over again. I like the MPE, but the Dinan exhaust seems like it will be less complicated to deal with in the long run. I also like the cleaner look of the Dinan exhaust, and the larger exhaust tips/finishers (On M2 and M2C). |

That too bad it still hangs low for OG M2. It hung low on my M235i and I ended up modifying it with some aftermarket hangers to make it sit more horizontal.

Those exhaust tip clamps are HUGE tho and not easy to hide. Need to find alternative low profile clamps..

Does anyone have anymore videos of this exhaust’s sound? I’ve seen the official Dinan video on YouTube and the couple in this thread, but I’d love to see a few more with (more drive-by etc.).
Thanks in advance if anyone can share

QUOTE by Dinan_Engineering Tell me about it. Between all the delays in development to now the delays in production after initial launch this product has earned its internal reputation as being the most cursed Dinan product release in the company's history many times over. Without getting into the weeds too much as I could write a novel on all the things that have come up in the last 2+ months, the good news (hopefully) is there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel. Assuming the last problematic outlier is officially resolved as expected on Monday we can finally start stitching the exhausts together and they will start shipping out again shortly thereafter |

Dinan also posted that it was supply+demand. There could be other internal factors but this has been a rough year for everyone regarding supplies and manufacturing Quote:

Dinan disappointment
Quote:
Upon news that your free-flow exhaust was finally released, in June, I was told it would arrive late, on August 3rd. On August 3rd, Dinan promised it would arrive between Aug 17-21. Today (Aug 20th), I'm told that not only has the product not been shipped yet, it hasn't even hit production. New date (without guarantees): Sept 17th. Your unending development and production delays, and your never-ending list of excuses are unfortunate -- though understandable. Lying to your customers, stringing them along, and wasting their time is unacceptable. If I ran my business like you run yours, I wouldn't be able to afford one of your expensive metal tubes, in the first place. Make this right, Dinan. |
