He's right, you know. M2 will be built is the Leipzig plant which is not set up for Individual orders. Maybe someone can swing it if they've ordered 100 BMWs before or something like that one dude who got the Java Green 1M.

As was stated, the Leipzig is the facility where the M2 will be produced. It is a well documented "fact" on here that the plant is not set up for Individual colors. It's been said numerous times by Scott and I believe from other sources. So, as far as Individual colors...it's a wrap.

Well...Seeing these numbers and color offerings I am so relieved I gave up my #1 spot at the dealer last week to just goahead and order a M235i.
I knew BMW was going to sabatage the "M" from the 2 to prevent most enthusiasts from moving from M3/4 down to a 2er. Financially for BMW it makes sense but screws us enthusiasts that were hoping for so much more out of the 2. I was expecting 380 w 390ish ft.lbs of torque. Considering I can get the 235i to surpass those numbers relatively easily its making my decision that much easier to swallow. The real question is IF this will be significantly lighter then the 235i...Not looking like it. Either way it will be a gorgeous car and I may still end up with one when the dust settles in a year or so. The M2 should have been given Sahkir Orange and Laguna Seca blue. LBB is just to similar to Estoril Blue IMO and I actually dont care for LBB in the sun, too powdery for my tastes. I also think the M2 could have pulled of Yaz Marino quite nicely too. |

Ummm... so where are all the Individual 1Ms??? The M cars are all produced at the same factory their non-M counterparts are produced. 4 series and M4 are produced in Munich, 5 and M5 in Dingolfing, 2 series and M2 in Leipzig. THERE IS NO BMW INDIVIDUAL IN LEIPZIG. Now stop being a dick.

A tuned N55! What a shocking revelation!
Seriously though what were people expecting. The N55 in my brothers E92 is nice and smooth, just wish it would pull all the way to redline. It calls it a day after 5,500 rpm - and that's where I like to spend most of my time haha! Highly unlikely I will be purchasing this car (as I have my eyes set on an M4 or Porsche), but Imola or Melbourne red would be the color I would choose! |

While I'm relieved to see that my color is here (LBB), I'm really disappointed that there isn't other color options. That sucks. Sorry to everyone who wanted DG which would have been awesome!

Of these color choices, I think MG or AW would be my choice. I cannot own a blue car... LeMans Blue almost made me a believer, but I couldn't do these soft as a baby's butt blues. I would have at least liked to see Jerez Black on there.

isn't a fully loaded 335i around $55k? Not exact on the price but if that's the case and the M2 starts around $50s, i see a big demand for the M2 as long as you don't need the extra space. better specs, more fun to drive.. thumbs up for me
specs and colors, ehhh everybody can't be happy about anything these days but it's not bad. bmw states lower figures so i'm guessing it's going to be a bit higher and with a piggy back or some mod that people definitely will do, it'll be a damn good car imo. hey, if ur not happy w/ something, mod it to your liking. if it's the color or specs, then jump into an M4 if it offers it. let's stop complaining and see what the final verdict is on the M2

...I'm not certain I'm clear from this thread where the M2 will be produced or if indeed aforementioned production plant will offer individual paint options?
Thoughts? ... .. . Sorry couldn't resist.

I'll admit I'm also disappointed to see the M2 get an N55. I was hoping for a detuned S55 to be honest, but didn't really see that happening.
However, just reading through this thread tells me BMW has accomplished exactly what they wanted. Many of you are saying you'll just get the M3/M4 instead, bc of this new news. THAT'S WHAT BMW WANTS YOU TO DO!! If they built this M2 to be the perfect car, they aren't making the money they would if you bought the M3/M4. It makes sense from a business perspective. I also want more colors: I vote SO Fire Orange TV AY

So by the early poll numbers, about 1 of every 2 M2's on the road will be Long Beach Blue. You know what they say about blue BMW drivers. Make us proud, guys!

tuning doesn't make an M car....chassis, suspension, brakes, gearbox, and steering do. Such a misconception by people thinking their 'modded' 335s and 235s are better than an M car....not a chance. |

Otherwise everybody pipe down, if you've ever driven an N55 you know that a tune can make it super quick. This will most likely edge out an E92 M3 in all around performance. I don't think theres any room to complain guys. If anything look at Porsches' GT4 as a counter example. |
