I'm surprised there's no special colours for the M2.

Exactly.

I'd prefer a lighter gray. Space, Silver/Gray or Donnington. I think I'm going to bail and see if a color option I like will be released later.

Obviously you will start to see other competitors put up their unique offering to compete with the the likes of the M2. Obviously the ATS-V is more M3/M4 competitor but at the M2 price point Cadillac is really not that pretty inside or out, but this thing has a sick twin turbo that's worth test driving for a year

On that note is the Audi RS3 hatch even a real competitor to the M2 ? 367hp/342 ft lb torque, 3350 lb curb weight, 18.9 psi boost, 3.5 seconds ... Would you consider it $65k MSRP.

Nevermind looking at similar v6 turbo from the likes of Mercedes, the CLA45 AMG is the closet thing out now, but it's a 4 cylinder with a crazy amount of boost. 3494 lbs, 61/39 weight distribution, less balanced the m235

Almost forgot about the 2016 Mercedes C450 AMG Sport. This was obviously the direct attack at other "sports" cars being released in the mid 300hp ranges, 3.0 biturbo v6, 362 hp, 384 torque, 0-60 4.9 seconds, but 3850 curb weight. So it's a bit overweight/underwhelming. Can we say it together Power to weight ratio. Horsepower divided by weight = performance. The higher this percentage, the more i want the car. The AMG Sport line is akin to BMW's M Sport like the M235i, fake badges = marketing, will sell sell sell!

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

I think the M2 should target 375 hp and 400 ft lb torque,if it magically came out around that i would hit it. But it should only be available in one color john deere green with a DCT 8spd, fully adjustable M electronic suspension, and LSD factory for 55k

Silver Grey would be amazing. And agreed that a lighter grey would be nice.

It pretty much will have 400 crank hp. The engine will be underrated just like all their turbo engines.
I really hope that those expected specs are not true. 400HP will make a lot of sense.

365whp with even a 10% drivetrain loss would be 400hp+ at the crank. If we consider how under-rated the M3/M4 was, the M2 crank HP might be close to 400 FWIW.

I'm still excited for the M2. I think the major question is how much will it weigh compared to the M235? The 235 isn't light but it is nimble, so I'd expect the M2 to shed some pounds and be even easier to toss around. But we all know why the M2 isn't 400+ hp......the M3/M4. Why would BMW build a car that's going to affect M4 sales?

Yup, hoping for some kind of a red/orange color was totally unrealistic. Shame on us!

Only thing im disappointed about is the color, i was hoping for sakhir orange or austin yellow. I'm pretty sure this thing will handle beautifully, its not all about HP

I just hope that those color options are not set in stone since we cannot even order custom colors from the Leipzig plant

There is no "Individual". The plant where the M2 will be produced is not set up for Individual.

Boy are you in for a surprise when you find out the factory that'll make this car doesn't currently support individual paint jobs.

I actually expected VO to make a return, but I wasn't referring to people's expectations of colors...

Although some of the older colors I'd say are wishful thinking.

He's correct. There will be no Individual for he M2. This fact has been well documented in this forum.
