Has this page been on for a while? Are they trying to get internet traffic or is there substance here?

Mmhmm maybe they’re just referring to the M2C and it’s just an old page

Those are M2C images but "extra carbon panels, thinner glass, and stripped-back sport seats (M3/4 Competition seats with the holes in them?) to shave a good 25 kg off the weight" certainly isn't.

This site is late to game; this is obviously the M2 Competition they're referring to.

No one expect the few individuals currently testing the CS is going to privy to any factual details..

You know these journalist always get the details mangled up..

Okay so they left me a voicemail and confirmed the website is actually for the competition but they confirmed they were expecting a ‘variation’ of a CS/CSL next year....

Smile CS/CSL?

Don't see any clues that, to me, say CSL. Believe this is a very early CS with more parts on the way. Remember spy photos of the white M2 mule heading to the Ring in 2012?

Do you mean the one that was spotted last April on the road next to the Nürburgring ? That seemed to be an M2 or M2C test mule featuring M Performance Parts.

After people’s opinions here...
If they do make a CSL, would people choose one of these, over something like a lotus Exige V6?
Also how long do manufacturers spend developing ‘special’ cars over stock ones? Surely a CS/L doesn’t need too much engineering work over a regular Comp?

The beauty of any M is to have the great performance without going too extreme towards track-ability and compromising practicality. It also retain certain level of luxury with a luxury brand, and build quality and reliability.

It means you can comfortably commute with your 500hp CSL every day. Or pick up your friend at the airport no trouble putting his or her luggage in the trunk and he or she, as a none car enthusiast, won't be thinking inside the cabin that your car is basically a giant piece of plastic.

Have that in mind and look at Lotus again.

I hear what you’re saying...obviously I’d hope it’ll be a bit biased on here but good to know what people’s thoughts are
I mean if it is a CSL....it’s surely gonna be pretty special in its own right

Has it finally happened that the prospect of an M2 CS has not stirred the emotions of everyone that it's looked upon as persona non grata?

If BMW doesn't change its mind, an M2 CSL will be the final curtain call for the F87 (scheduled for a one year release - final year of F87 production).

Hoping it won't just be what the M2C should have been. BMW loves doing that these days with M models.

Are the front fenders different on this mule, or is it just the lighting making them look wider than usual? The rear spoiler looks taller as well, but that could just be the tape.

Look at the parking sensors (blue). I think that whole car is wrapped black, and that is why the paint looks odd to me.
