M2 Owners, Are You Selling/Trading Your M2 for the M2 Competition ?
If you currently have an M2 please vote in the poll and leave your comments below.
I am on the fence of whether I should sell/trade my 2016 Long Beach Blue, 6 speed manual, executive package M2 with 10k miles for a 2019 M2 Competition. I have the first allocation at my dealer, but not sure if it is worth the upgrade once I factor in the money. Whether I sell or trade my current M2 it will essentially be my M2 plus $20k (maybe more with tax, etc) I think the 2019 M2 will be a great car and I am going to assume BMW will make this S55 engine sound better than the current M3/M4. If I didn't already have an M2, I would be all over it. My order is in, but still on the fence, curious what other M2 owners are doing. Thanks for voting, leave your comments below. Glenn

Agree with above posters. Mods and tuning are done to my liking.

That’s a tough one. My two minor problems with M2 on the track are it’s a bit too heavy and the engine could use a little more power. So for me it’s a wash with the comp.

Was contemplating on selling of my M two weeks ago but then I decided, F it and mod away and be content with what I have. I personally feel my M looks way better than the M2C and am sure you boys have sorted your Ms nicely.

Unless you find a way to off load the M2 with minimal financial loss, I would keep it.
No one really needs even 50% off the power the M2C is capable of. That being said, you could never have too much power |

I am perfectly happy with my completely stock, hard to read gauges at times, crooked seat, standard mirrors, non-unigrille LBB 2016 with 35K miles. More than enough power and torque from the N55 and the sound is glorious. This is my seventh BMW and hoping to graduate to a Porsche.

weight gain over 140lbs? no thx.
I'd buy a used M4 over the M2C for the same or less money if I had the craving for S55 and M4 comes with real S55 instead of M2C's Detuned S55.

I wouldn't mind the extra power, but won't be trading this year.
It's funny, a lot of people say the M2 comp is, "the car we've been asking for," or "the way the M2 should have been from day one," but I don't remember a lot of professional reviewers or users on these forums complaining about the power when the M2 was released in 2016. I just remember universal praise for its character and return to ///M basics. Some users here focused on the N in front of the number 55, but this felt more like a pride thing than anything to do with power. So, for now, I'm not making any changes. |

I feel you guys... I don't fancy coughing up USD335k for my M and I'm guessing when it lands in our neck of the woods it'll touch USD400k because of all the stupid taxes and on road costs.

M2 is gone already, M2C is on order...
I must say you guys in the US have a crap base spec. You are carrying around too much you don't need. You need a CSL version of the Competition... :P MR |

Just called my dealer. I can have the #1 spot if I want it. Currently no wait. I could easily trade in my 17 m2 for an m2c. I am fortunate that my finances dont prohibit me from impulsive things lol! But a few things ran through my head when confronted with actually making this switch. First, I really like my current car. Before we knew how inferior it was, the industry had crowned it possibly the best M car ever. I'm sticking with that sentiment. Secondly, putting on all of my stuff, expel, mpower steering wheel, fabspeed cat, dinan exhaust, I just really dont have the time or inclination to do all of that again! I need a few years before I go through all of that again. Plus I'm currently working on a new WRX I just picked up, and having fun with that.
Lastly, I just dont feel inspired by this car as much as I did when i ordered my m2. Dont misunderstand me, not saying the m2c wont be an excellent car. I am planning on keeping my m2. I also plan on buying whatever the next platform of m2 will be. So maybe I see some redundancy in my own plans if I were to pick up the C |

I’ve only had the M2 for about a month, and was eager to get a Competition, however I realized that not only is the Competition not for me, neither is the M2. It’s getting traded in Friday. It’s just not what I’m looking for in a car. The Competition has all the same things I’ve grown to dislike, just with more power.

I have no idea why they option it the way they do in the US. However, I did math; the currency conversion comes out cheaper here than the EU (Including VAT) with the same exact options.. So that's the trade off, I guess; more "free" stuff.. |

No, not gonna trade it in for a two big mains reasons.
1)It already has enough power when modified. I'll be pushing around 540-ish whp after the S55 HPFP is installed and my Stage 2 turbo also. That's way more than I need on the streets. If I wanted to make more power for the track, I just have a tune for race fuel and just run that. Pulled on a McLaren 650s this way yesterday and a Porsche Gt3 on the straight away at a track day with the Race Map. 2) They got rid of grey for a crappier looking grey.

Nope.
-Not a fan of the front bumper/grille design -Don't like how the S55 sounds -Not interested in the color options -Like the 437m wheels better (though maybe you can get M2C with them) -If I really want a faster car, I'll get a Porsche or McLaren |
