Is this car DCT or 6MT? Curious, as based upon the weight, I would assume 6MT.

Yes!

The car definitely needs 18s (with not such a low offset) and a drop. Looking forward to where this build is taken.

So what do you guys think of a good wheel size/offset (square setup) for the track?

would 18x10 et 25 work? (with suspension/camber)

thanks

wow. the m2 can swallow wheels. i imagine some people who lower this thing will be putting 19x10s and 19x12s on it with some stretch and track guys will be doing 18x10 easily. with the power and size of this car and how it can handle, seems this is an evolution of the e46m3

love the white!

If the turbo is the std N55 (which it could be understood it is since the tech training manual doesn't list anything apart from the wastegate actuator as changed from the std N55 turbo), it makes sense that you experience high IAT's above 5000rpm and only could run 1psi extra boost above 5k.

Will be interesting to see if the turbo is at it's limit or if it's capable of supplying enough volume of air also with increased boost above 5k...
I think the turbo has more in it, but now I'm also thinking that there may be a torque limiting map in the ECU. We're going to try and bench flash the ECU to see if we can make some more reliable power.

No, the et22 was too aggressive. The goal is to run 275/35/18 square, and I think we'll need to be closer to et30 with some camber up front to make it work.

That's exactly what it sounds like...

Maaaaaybe. Andrew put up a thread in the sales section. I'll get with him tomorrow to see what we can do about intro pricing for the M2 tips.

The plan is a square 18" setup with 275/35/18.

We haven't quite spec'd all of that out yet. Ideally we want to run 275/35/18 square with 18x10. I think et25 will be too aggressive though. From what I can tell the rear will need to be closer to 35 and the front will need to be closer to 30 with some camber.

With a street tire we'd like to run close to -2.5* camber up front and -1.5* in the rear but we'll see what's necessary to fit the wheel/tire combo.

The rear will fit a pretty big wheel/tire. There isn't as much room as the M4, but with the stock wheel and tire there is about 20mm of room on the inside between the tire and the shock, and I'd say about 15mm of room on the outside.

Why develop a new intercooler? It has the same part number stock as m235i. I am sure the ones developped for m235i will be a straight fit.

The M235i ones could be restrained by space limitations inside the front bumper/fascia. Possibly room for larger intercooler in the M2?

It would be really interesting to compare lap times for stock vs. square 275/35/18 setups.
BMW specified over 200 tire parameters to Michelin for the M2's special tires.

Oh, and dropping the car reduces suspension travel.
That can be bad when you're tracking the car and you hit the bump stops.
Just sayin'.

Agree. It's one of those weird sport + comfort features.
F1-simulation paddles + slushbox-simulation auto mode.
BMW developed it just to "keep up" with other car makers.

Yep, afaik Porsche PDK 7speed and Ferrari's 7DCT are basically the 'same' Getrag DCT gearbox BMW uses with optimalized software etc.

But anyway. 1:12.2

First off, it's great to see the M2 with something other than stock wheels. Looks very purposeful.
Secondly,we all expected that the N55T won't have as much headroom as the S55 for tuning so far, but definitely looking forward to what you guys come up with.

Keep up the good work!
Why should they ? Customers await ?!

18x9.5 - skinny wheels

Franklins query was the same as mine which is .. Will my 1M track wheel setup fit ?

We both dropped 18x10s with 275/35 continentals on the 1M instantly for a track setup , and I think definitely more than 9.5 is needed with that size tire. I love my 285/30 BFGs

Let's get some wide wheels on that wide body

I imagine that like most BMWs a square setup and some camber will make it a great track machine that doesn't cost you an arm a leg in tire because you can rotate all around.
