Took a little Sunday drive in the M2 - and brought the drone along (many pics)
A bit chilly this morning, but nice enough to take the car for a little spin. So, I decided to take a little drive over to Hells Canyon along the Snake River near Brownlee Reservoir, over into eastern Oregon, and then back home to Idaho.
I brought the drone along to do some testing, particularly since a big part of the reason I bought one was with the hope of getting some cool photos and video on some of my two-wheel or four-wheel adventures. I know scenery is likely to get much more green and picturesque as we move into spring, but figured I could get some practice in, anyway. It was sure fun to get some fresh perspectives, and conditions were pretty good, especially for some nice reflections off the river. Here are some samples: As always, the M2 was absolutely brilliant - even better now since I added the new wheels and coilover kit. You can imagine how much fun roads like this are to drive. Brilliant! |

What a beautiful landscape. Perfectly enhanced with some long beach blue.

Thanks! I've got the M Performance Coilover kit, and we lowered it 15mm. I've got the same Michelin Pilot Super Sports as OEM, which have really impressed me.

Outstanding! Always love your pics; I lived in SLC for a few years in the early 2000 and would drive to Seattle a couple of times a year. Driving through northern Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington was always a stunning drive which seemed to change complete between summer and winter.
1000+mile road trips in blistering heat or sub zero temps but I still have the '96/E36/318is I used for those trips (original owner). It's showing its age now but it has been a road warrior and has never let me down.

Great photos! Does your drone have the auto follow feature? That would be some fun video of your car!!! Now you got me thinking of getting a drone. I almost did last year, but have no purpose to have one. This might be that reason.

Thanks! It does have an auto-follow feature, though the videos I've watched where others have tried it, show it to be a little hit-and-miss. In "sport" mode it will go up to 40 MPH. I'll definitely be trying it out soon, in very controlled conditions to start.
