You go to the dealer so they can replace it under warranty and you're not the one at fault for breaking it... 😂😂

Here's a video on an E87. I don't have the car yet so I can't confirm the if this applies to the F87.
In other cars, I've pulled off the cover gently. It's often held by 2-3 plastic clips.

Is it noise like this?
Its on every few seconds, like if someone will kick with little hamer.

I wonder if it could be coming from around the edge of the windshield.

Agree. Had this issue on a car a long time ago. Cause of the rattle was inside the engine compartment near the lower corner of the A-pillar.

I had a similar issue with B pillar trim on the 1M. The only way we could fix it was to have the service manager ride along with me and pinpoint it exactly.

Have a passenger ride with you and scoot their seat as close as possible to the front.
If you don't have one I suggest a mechanics stethoscope which you can place on different areas to zero in on the source of the noise.

My e92 m3 had a super annoying b pillar rattle. Of course the dealer heard nothing. I ended up removing it myself and added dynamat and foam. But the removal of the rear door panel and breaking the factory seal seemed to end up causing more rattles. In your case I would hope that the noise goes away when the plastics expand and contract a bit in winter and summer.

Carl, I saw the attached in another thread, and thought of you. If this is the same issue, this is how the other member was able to resolve. I hope this helps.

No but thanks! Mine is driving me nuts. I have removed and applyed felt tape to every conceivable trim piece. A pillar cover, lower side dash cover, overhead consul , visor mounts. Dash mounting bolts. Also went over all fittings under the hood next to the windshield inc the chassis bracing . The noise is a snapping that comes from the upper corner on the passenger side of the windshield. I have even lowered the headliner and couldn't find anything. The tech who is pretty sharp said that i have tried all the possible areas . I'll tell you one thing, i have gotten real good at removing trim. although there's defiantly a learning curve! Anybody have any ideas? carl

Carl, have someone ride with you and have them press with their hand on the outside edges of the windshield in that corner. See if the sound stops.

Could be hard to hear it with the window partially down.

Chris, yes i did that and even had them use an amplified mechanics stethoscope that i have . Still couldn't locate the source . I have driven it with the a pillar cover and the dash side cover plus the visor removed and the noise is still there. So i have eliminated those pieces. Seems to be coming from the upper right corner under the headliner. But there's nothing in there besides wiring which i have also secured and insulated. Ill find it, many times its something real simple?? I'm open to suggestions !! carl
