Gah, this is a real bummer. This is the PERFECT front lip that I've been searching for. I can't believe a manufacturer won't take up the cause.

Yup, been holding off a lip purchase because I was hoping this would come to market but I guess not... closest lip to something subtle is the Strecken lip but that's a little too subtle for the $$.

Sorry for the slow news on this guys. Small update.

I haven't forgotten about this project. We're still working on it but its taken a back seat behind a few other internal projects. Good news is that they're in final stages now so I can put some more energy into this.

If everyone is still keen, we're looking to have the mould and samples finished before Christmas. Deliveries to customers Jan 2020.

Just too reiterate:
  • Approx £700
  • Dry Carbon / Pre-preg carbon fibre (2x2 weave)
  • M2C M Performance style (similar to the 'Sabon carbon' one on first page).
  • OEM mounting points

If there is enough interest state-side it might make more sense for us to arrange a domestic distributor for you guys. Would help keep shipping costs down.

If you are US based and interested, please say "aye" so I can gauge interest and investigate this further.

Edit:
Also, what's peoples opinion on the Herringbone weave? Where the carbon weave meets in the middle.. like paganis, mclarens etc...

I'm a huge fan and would like to include but I know some people hate it - hoping to get a general consensus on it before we go into production.

Aye. I'm in USA and will definitely buy it. I would prefer without the herringbone split, but if that's easier to manufacture and keeps cost down, I'll live with it.

Also, please keep the holes for DIY brake cooling options, like shown in the OP.

Aye.

OEM mounting points is a plus but please add pre drilled holes as well along the leading front edge of the bumper. The front of the lip def needs secure mounting as is evident from vorsteiner, mode carbon, lips coming off of the bumper of people who only relied on tape.

The oem mounting points are too far back to be structural on a lip.

Sterckenn and RKP come to mind with secure mounting points near the front edge along with OEM

So you're saying its cosmetic rather than functional?

really nice job, looking forward to this!! been waiting for almost a year haha.

However:

1) I dont think people will like the herringbone weave in the middle

2) As said above, besides the OEM winglets mounting points you need to include holes in the center section of the lip, cause going above 100 mph the lip will just rattle or fly off

Yup, agreed RE the extra fastening.

I think the issue is that most people do not like drilling into their bumper! We will definitely provide the option and addition self-tapping screws to help with fitment. Along with pre-applied 3M adhesive tape and adhesive promoter.

Thanks for the feedback on the Herringbone weave. Will keep in mind.

Aye. In US. And prefer to stay away from herringbone pattern.

Instead of self tapping screws I say include standard bolt, washer, and bolt nut. Way more secure than a self tapping screw.

We’re weighing this up as an option but want to keep installation practical for the DIY’er.

Potentially could include both.

Aye.

I'd be painting mine BSM so I really don't care about the weave. In fact I'd prefer an option made out of PVC, lol. This way it doesn't eventually splinter and break after I bottom out and scrape it on every incline known to man.

Aye, definitely interested and in the US.
Not a fan of the center herringbone joint though.

I'm in if it comes with the air ducts like in the OP pic and no herringbone weave!

I'd be interested in a version without the winglets and I'd like tape, self-tapping screws and bolts because, you know, the Autobahn!

I don't mind the herringbone but would be fine without it. Interested to see more!
